Do we really treat fellow human beings like this?

Thanks a lot, mates, for the kind likes! - George, I don´t want to hurt your - nor anyone else´s - feelings when posting my war dioramas. I always try to show a realistic scene with a historical background, a little bit of fiction based on facts. I always avoid showing cruelty or death. Here you can see two Iraqi soldiers going into captivity, one of them showing an allied leaflet promising humane treatment. Everything depicted in this album is in accordance with international law, as was the campaign "Desert Storm" as a whole. Iraq had invaded Kuwait and was pushed out in the end, there was a mandate for the campaign from the UN security council. Of course the world would be a better one without aggression and war, without killing, wounding people or taking prisoners of war.

Speaking as a Desert Storm veteran, Neuling got this scenario correct. Iraq soldiers were surrendering on mass, there were groups of dozens tens of dozens would surrender to a single helicopter. We did drop millions of the leaflets depicted here. It was all very humane as of this time Iraqi soldiers were unmotivated as Iraq had fought a war with Iran for 8 years. By comparison to the 2003 war (which I also served in) Desert Storm was the closest thing to a conventional war we fought. In my experience the post 9/11 wars were far more horrific Our friend Neuling is simply a very very skilled artist at bringing history books in 3D. So George Williams, sadly, yes humans do treat each other's this way and sadly it has and will be the case for all of human existence. Remember too, politicians start wars from behind desks and soldiers are the tip of the spear.. But believe me when I say, there is far far worse ways I've seen men treat other men, and here is a very subtle way of depicting a time in history. 👍

I agree with Mr James, that bunker is sublime and really well executed. So many of your photos look photorealistic - especially #5 and #9. I'm going to start calling Dios of your level Neulings from now on! 😜

I can only copy the previous comments. Neuling, your dios are always an inspiration. I can't say which of yours I like "best" as that would imply that some are better than others, they are all fantastic, but this one is so good that it ranks at the top, IMO.

George, your comment, "Do we really treat fellow human beings like this?" The answer is yes, and these guys getting rolled up as POWs are getting off light. The air war prior to the start of the Desert Storm ground war was pretty brutal. Imagine being under B-52 strikes for who knows how long with only your toenails to eat. When the Coalition forces rolled in, they were ready to call it a day.
