Building the Airfix 88mm gun and tractor

I got this kit at the shop of a private military museum in Germany. 

The boxing is 1980 vintage, the kit is much older. 

As old as my house. 

The parts. 

Cleaning up the tyres. 

I added some detailing from generic PE and styrene stock, without being overly concerned about accuracy. This was meant to be fun. And it was. 

I finally found a way to utilize the nice vintage box (art) in the display, keeping the model base proper removable. My trusty foam cutter helped a lot. 

I needed a lot of masks for the numerous wheels. 

Checking the setup of the components on the base. 

I had bought very nice tracks by OKB Grigorov, but they turned out to be just a bit too short for my kit. 

So I used the kit vinyl tracks. Glued them with Pattex Crocodile Glue and painted them with Stynylrez. 

The windscreen was glazed with PVA glue.
