First time since getting back into making models last year - bought after market decals(on order). I have still to choose paint scheme and which decals.

I got what I ORDERED, not what I wanted!!! I guess I missed the part number for what I ordered was for a Stearman Kaydet 0- it was just for a 1/32 model !!! The web site HAS what I wanted but am not ordering again....
Back to OOB. 🙁 :}

You should spray white on before applying yellow. Yellow is almost always translucent and needs a decent color underneath. Grey underneath will make it look dirty and give it a green tint and it will be impossible to put enough layers of yellow on to cover the grey.

The yellow look is not what was expected but it does have depth. I may try a few tricks closer to completion.

ALMOST complete. The optional rigging instructions showed 30 lines. I used 20 (did not double up in the front). A little more touch ups and add the engine and on to the next. The next model will be my first with PHOTO ETCH...

Generally happy with the results. *Need to work on rigging in general...
*I did have a bright yellow acrylic but it would not stick well on the primer. I ended up using the Tamiya yellow green and the coating was good - just not 'yellow yellow'.
*The ordering of the wrong decals was a bummer. Also - recap - the first time I had two models on the go. Today was a cold but sunny day. A good day to take the 'official' portraits outside.
