I join Steve... will the wall be roughcast and painted? do yout think this could be a vietnam wall?.. by the way I don't know how nam walls look like, but I'm pretty sure they don't look like typical german walls 😉

Hi Mates
I searched for walls in Hue a long time. All i know is that they are sometimes brickwalls and walls with plaster on it.Typical for the walls are pillars with ornaments on it .I work on the ornaments at the moment. Here a pic from a brick wall .In my street there are 2-3 walls who look like this (without the Marines and the Tank 🙂

Is it scratchbuilt Markus??? If so how'd you do it??? Don't get me wrong! I know how I'd do it!!! But I'm interested in your method🙂

Hi Steve
The material for the wall is called "Kapa".There is a layer of paper over a foam core .I removed the layer of paper and carved the Bricks in.Then i used a structure paste .The stones on the wall and pillars are a material that you use to stick dry flowers in.It is easy to cut and to put to shape.I covered them with wood paste (i want to have a smoother finish then on the wall). The ornaments are made from thin Evergreen plate.I used a skalpel and a scriber to damage parts of the wall.
I hope i can help you with this quick guide.

I`m really fascinated of your painting and weathering skills!
An absolutely stunning impressions are the colour nuances and your art of loosening all large surfaces!
So many little eye catcher, that it is hard to focus the entire vehicle! The exhaust is by far the best weathered exhaust I`ve ever seen!
The wall is for now very cool! Like it!

yeah man, that exhaust is outstanding......lots of different tones. Did you use pigments or what???
10 March 2013, 15:25
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
No ,thats a secret.No comment!!!!!
10 March 2013, 16:01
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Just kidding ,Mate😉
I used the great Lifecolor Rust and Dust set! After that i used the Light rust wash from AK Interactive to blend the tones together. For the weathering i used Mig Oil and Grease Mixture and AK Engine Grime. The smut at the exhaust end is Mig Black smoke Pigment diluted with enamel thinner. As usual with me ,a try and error procedure till it fits 🙂

Good inspiration for me Markus, I just finished that ?Beer and Pretzels? Tiger 1 and must remember to focus on the little stuff like that exhaust sub assembly ( I got real lazy on some of the sub assemblies)?.The sum of really getting all the little stuff right really pays off in the end product. Very nice build! Thanks for the info on your exhaust weathering.
