Vielen Dank für das Lob.
Ich habe zum ersten mal (für mich) "neue" Techniken eingesetzt. Das Chipping habe ich mit Pinsel und aufgehellter Grundfarbe gemacht. Danach habe ich mit Panzergrau an den gleichen Stellen weitergemacht. (Für die tiefen Kratzer) das Schwämmchen kam nur an wenigen Stellen zum Zug. Jetzt geht es ans "Einstauben" und die Ketten ...

Ich bin eigentlich auch mehr bei Flugzeugen zuhause. Panzer sind schon ganz was anderes, aber es ist eine gute Ergänzung was die Bemalungs- und Alterungstechniken angeht ... da gibt es viel was man für beides nutzen kann...

Das war eine Premiere. Aber ich glaube es hat geklappt
... das Teil sieht aus wie ein 1944 an der Ostfront auf Rückzug befindliches StuG III ...
Bei der Alterung ist das halt immer so eine Sache mit "Zuviel" aber die Fahrzeuge waren in den Jahren 44/45 nicht mehr ganz so frisch ... das gibt genug Spielraum für Weathering.

..I can?t seem to find it Albi, but somebody posted a finished late Stug not too long ago that was most excellent. I Can?t believe I didn?t snag any of his pics. Anyone help out here? Seems to me he was a Norwegian????

@ Vorya I know ... but the problem is ... i've done my last "diorama" 25 years ago.
Its a topic of itself ... but there is always a first time .... lets see ... something simple maybe ...

Make a desert diorama. The Afrika Korps used a few StuG III's. And you can get away with a simple diorama i think, the StuG will steal all of the attention 🙂

My idea was an end time 19 44 -45 diorama with a lot of bricks on a cobble street with some tired soldiers sideways ...

@ Albi Hitz: stugiii.com/theaters/northafrika.html. Apparently, a small unit called Sonderverband 288 was equipped with 10 StuG III D's. So it's not the right type of StuG III.

There is more where that came from. I'm on my phone right now, but try googling Sonderkommando 288. I even found a Table of Equipment detailing what types of vehicles the AK had, and how many.

@ Eend: Thanks mate! There is a lot of stuff ... interesting. The DAK is not my field of work, but to tuning in i can start with the Bison II. Desert vehicles looks very very old after a short time ...

Thanks Frank. No the one in front is from Dragon "German Officers Kursk 1943" and the commander is from Tamiya "Tank Crew at Rest" .... but the are just for fun ... It depends on the diorama ....

Das mit dem Rost ist so ne Sache. Habe früher sehr viel Rost an meine Panzer gepappt aber der ist nur bei abgeschossenen, aufgegebenen oder im kleinen bei den "Endzeit" Panzern zu sehen.
Die Fahrzeuge aus den Anfängen waren sogar top gewartet, da war nichts mit Beschädigungen oder Rost etc.
Ist halt für den Modellbauer nicht soooo spannend aber meistens war wenigstens die Auspuffanlage stark verrostet. Da kann man sich da etwas austoben 🙂

Albi, da hast Du völlig Recht. Ich finde aber das man gerade bei einfarbigen Fahrzeugen, egal ob grau oder dunkelgelb, mit Filtern und Chipping sehr viel herausholen kann. Gerade das hast du mit dieser Lackierung eindrucksvoll rüber gebracht. Hut ab!

Christian und Holger, vielen Dank für euere lobenden Worte.
Ich mag diese "einfarbigen". Früher fand ich diese nicht sehr spannend, aber in der Zwischenzeit ist da dank einfach anzuwendende und vielfältiger Produkte viel Potential vorhanden.
Das selbe in "Grün" bei den amerikanischen oder russischen Geräten.
Mal sehen was da noch so kommt 😉

Und ich erst! Seit dem ich weiß wie viele Varianten von "Oliv Drab" existieren, sieht man das mit ganz anderen Augen... 🙂
