luciano gianfilippiFor the cockpit Dekno kit contains only two pilots seats, but the S.62 had a crew of four:
it is necessary to drill the two pilots seats, according to original plans that showed
the seats lowered in weight with many holes, and to build from scratch two seats
for observer and gunner (forward and rearward the cockpit), and the instrument panel,
pedals and trim elevator. Of course the seats required seat belts. And a natural metal floor. Savoia used fabric light green inside and wood frames together with dural
(italian aluminium melting cocktail for airplane).
The livery is the same of Italy air force of 1930: "aluminata" color for the fuselage
(very similar to Tamiya flat alu, as showed from airplanes of that age preserved
at Vigna di Valle museum of Aeronautica Italiana) and flat black downside for floats
and kyle. All the struts are flat alu in the photos, not black as usual for the IJN aircrafts.

Imperial Japanese Navy acquired a seaplane S.62 of Savoia Idrovolanti of Italy.
There are photos with "hinomaru" perhaps taken at Yokosuka naval air base
during test trials. But there are other photos of S.62 in civilian livery, for example
with black registration J-BBWI. I don't know how many S.62 Japan acquired
for military use and airline transport.
The Dekno kit is a resin product of 199X, out of production now and outside the
nowadays catalogue of Dekno: I buyed it more of 20 years ago.
