That's almost a catalogue.
Does this mean that they all will be finished at the end of 2014? 😉

Probably not. I'm a slow builder and I take my time,plus it's over 15 kits. I only built 9 or 10 this year 🙂

I'm going to the hobby shop soon (maybe tomorrow) my grandma gave me 100 bucks because she has no idea what I like so I'll get a few things tomorrow....maybe the Airfix 1/72 Avro Lancaster,it's sitting in the window of the shop and I've been eyeing it for months now! LOL

I have 6 1/32 migs. I am waiting until I can get the Eudard PE detail set for the Mig 29, I have to buy 2 sets because it is a twin seater. I think the first one I will tackle will be my Trumpeter 1/32 Mig 15. I am going to try and use either Alcads Metalizer paints or Testors modelmaster rub and buffs.

No they are airbrush only. The modelmaster I think can be brushed, the non buffing ones. The rub and buff have to be air brushed. You know Badger makes a nice beginners airbrush the model 350 and it is fairly cheap. And they make one just below that, that is likr 29.00 And testors makes some inexpensive ones as well. You can use Propel for them. It is canned proplellent. That is what I used until I got my compressor. I haven't had it long. If you go to TC,Global.com They have air brushes and compressors for really good prices.

I just don't want an airbrush. I think that I can achieve the same finishes with a hairy stick. Also at my lhs they had an airbrush class. They gave you a car body to practice on,mine came out so bad that I don't want to touch an airbrush ever again...lol

I used to be that way also, I thought the only way to paint a model was with a brush. I have always spray painted my white though. I have found I get a better finish with the airbrush. I used to spray paint my cars with a rattle can. My 1/35th helicopters were all painted with a rattle can, and I still paint most of my cockpit base coats with a rattle can then brush paint everthing else in them or use a tooth pick.

Right, and you can try funny things like color modulation, pre/postshadeing... and you're faster than with a brush anyway 😉

Like any other tool or machine, it just takes some practice to get to know how to use it.

Man you got a lots of stuff for Christmas, not fair. Brandon I felt the same way about the airbrush. For years I would hand paint my models and do a good job but when I started to go to contest and seeing all of those amazing models I knew If I wanted to up my game I would need to get an airbrush. It's not as hard as you may think to learn. It does take practice like most things. Find a cheap one and just start learning. read and look at videos online on airbrushing. you will be amazed how your models will improve

Thanks John. They seem like a pain to clean, and I have no room for a compressor. Also my local hobby shop doesn't sell the canned air. I'd rather stick to hand painting my models

I also hate thinning the paint down,I sometimes do it for brush painting. But it's always a pain to get right.

When your readdy
Harbor frieght makes an amazing double action airbrush and it comes with an aircompresser (its really small) I works great very easy to clean and you dont have to thin the paint to much
It also saves so much paint it ridiculous
Only put a drop of thinner for every 6 dropps of paint for it
Its 89 dollars for airbrush and compresser
And has a 2 year warranty
So if something goes wrong, you can return it and get a brand new set for free

Should I also get a hood thingy so the paint doesn't get everywhere? Or can I airbrush without it and use it right in my desk?

You can do it with out those hoods
Since you use acryllics
It wont harm or smell
Just wear a mask
Its a must do no matter what
Yes spray right at your desk
Get the harbor frieght airbrush cleaning kit
Its only3 dollars and is great
And once you have it
I will post an album to help you with cleaning, getting the paint mix right, and some tips
And I will post pictures of cleaning processes and tools to help aid in cleaning

Hey Brandon and Hunter those harbor Freight airbrush cleaning brush set are to big for our hobby airbrush. they are for cleaning airbrushes for cars and larger paint guns. Go to the drug store and get some Dental brushes that look like small pipe cleaners. They are used for cleaning between bridges and braces but just the right size for cleaning our airbrush. There flexible and soft
and can be reused. I have been using them over the pass year and work great. BTW I have one of those Harbor Freight Compressor and airbrush set up. I have not used it as I am keeping it as a back up.

Brandon on the hood. I use a plastic bin from Walmart. I have no exhaust on it but I can close it up to keep the dust off it as it dries.
