USS Enterprise
Primed with Stynylrez white primer. The manual says to use pearlescent gloss white, but I don't have any, so regular gloss white will have to do.
Panel liner applied! It looks grimdark, but I after some forceful rubbing the white comes back out. Had to apply two layers of gloss varnish to not take the paint off.
Lightened up a little.
Getting started with the decals. The aztec decals included in the kit are incredibly high quality.
Applying decals WIP
More decals done, only small ones and the saucer ones remaining.
Starting on the Aztec decals for the saucer section. The manual says you should cut across them to ensure a better fit, but I didn't have any problems just the way they were.
Assembled the hull while the saucer decals are drying.
Saucer is on. This model is very large, almost as big as my cutting mat. Only a few more decals to go.

I am confident that this will end up being a nice looking model. 🙂 Presumably you get the aztec decals with this kit. I have to paint on mine on my 1:350 kit.

Treehugger, I did the 350 with lights and Aztec decals. You were better off painting them, the polar lights decals sucked! About 1/3 were cut wrong on my sheet, and the luster from the paint looked better! Can't wait to see Ensigns when he's done!

Coming very late to the party, but this looks seriously great. The decals with the prep on the surface create a perfect blend, both saucer and engineering hull look superb. The grey-to bluish colors are also spot on. Top! I am happy not to have missed this 🙂

Thanks! There are actually a ton of imperfections that are mostly my fault, I am going to have to think of some way to cover them up after I'm done with the decals. Unfortunately "battle damage" is not an excuse like it would be for a tank...

If you had implemented a Blue lighting kit, it could just have been some movie shot.... Nice work.

Thank you all! Yes, it probably would have looked a lot nicer with blue LEDs, if I could get a hollow mounting rod to run the wires through.

an aluminium rod? easy to get by, light, strong, and it could look good.

Too late now, it's all sealed up. I will definitely consider it if I ever make another spaceship.
