My parts spent three weeks in a brakefluid bath to de-chrome them.

Then I used Alclad II on them

Not without some masking

But then, construction really got underway.

At times, it was on the fiddly side.

But I did like the look of the "brass" parts.

This is the vehicle completed virtually OOB.

I´m currently working out whether to use the figures, or whether they would distract from the cute look of the model.

Wunderful 👍 I have build two of those Ford-T's, but not the fire fighter and I really like this series of kits! A sports car will follow.

Thank you all a lot! It was a welcome change of subject, and a paint scheme I hardly ever used before.

That is really stunning, Frank.
I also appreciate the de-chroming tip. I have a couple of upcoming projects that will benefit from that!

Thank you, Nigel! It did take three weeks in all, though - so I´m sure there must be faster options. The plastic wasn´t harmed, and that was my main worry.

I will research alternative de-chroming options. But, for me at least, it's not a race and, like you, I prefer to keep the plastic unhamed. If it takes three weeks, I have other projects to keep me busy!😉
