Renault 5 Turbo - Rally of Portugal 1986

Starting surgery on the dashboard, to convert it from road to rally. Relocating the instrument cluster compartment to a more realistic location. 

Yet more surgery: removing the glove compartment and new scratch built rally parts and custom decals.

Scratch built steering wheel 

Renaissance resin seats to replace the road going original ones. Some modifications needed. 

Not even close to the rally version! 

Scratch building the spare wheel support and engine compartment cover 

Painted and weathered spare wheel support. 

Scratchbuilding the roll cage with soldered brass tubes. 

Lots of scratchbuilding on the "chassis": brass and styrene galore!
