Can you comment more about the "pinch" you mention? Around the canopy area.

Sure, check this article from Junpei Tenma: soyuyo.main.jp/f4/f4e-1.html
I find this gentleman a very respectable source. In that article you can find some discussion about the shape of the Phantom canopy. He discusses that pinch in the middle fixed frame zone. It might be anal but I noticed Academy didn't have it. I havent't measured the kit, it's just my opinion after reading Junpei's article 🙂

Album info
Extended the nose landing gear strut to show it as should be for carrier launch, dropped the inner leading edge flaps (only applicable for early F-4Bs, with un-slatted stabilizers).
Added some old Monogram 500lbs Snakeyes and decals from Furball, MiG killers part 1. I chose one of the options for the "Puking Dogs" for which there was a picture in Wikipedia with this weapons loadout.
A mostly enjoyable kit. However the air intakes design is not what I would expect for such a recent kit (I think their 1/72 one is better engineered), and there is a minor issue with the canopy shape, which lacks the pinch in the middle fixed portion. Other than that, very good kit and it's really nice that it comes with figures, which I really like...
