Whazzit???
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/7/8/0/1040780-48972-10-720.jpg)
As you can see, there are (too) many parts that go insides each engine nacelle...as far as I can imagine not much will be visible after closing them...
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/7/8/1/1040781-48972-96-720.jpg)
I have added circular "bulkheads" punched from 1 mm plastic sheet that will help to glue the fuselage halves right and also the ones in the rear (perhaps I should say: bottom ?) will serve as support for new supporting legs that need to be made from metal - the polistyrene ones included in the kit are obviously too thin to support the finished model (see right top of this photo)
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/7/9/1042879-48972-68-720.jpg)
Internal parts of the engines painted. I am going to make some shadows, but I suppose not much will be visible after closing the nacelles.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/8/7/8/1042878-48972-98-720.jpg)
Some leftover decals glued with white glue to maintain more realistic shape and position
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/6/9/6/1044696-48972-85-720.jpg)
Rocket engine nozzle pad installed - grooves inside the fuselage need to be filed a bit.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/6/9/7/1044697-48972-31-720.jpg)
Main fuselage closed. Unfortunately, the parts that constitute the transparent section do not fit well and are of a bit too small diameter compared to nose cone...
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/6/4/8/1046648-48972-63-720.jpg)
Unfortunately, some CA fumes found the way insides. I am wondering why the joint line was not designed along the framing where it could be easily hidden...
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/6/4/7/1046647-48972-97-pristine.jpg)
In the meantime I manufactured a jig to keep the angles between wings (or should I say: stabilisers?)... No, it is not a launch pad, in case someone asked 😉
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/9/5/9/1046959-48972-87-pristine.jpg)
Since both fins and stabilisers are butt-joined to the fuselage in this kit, I added pieces of soft wire to reinforce the joints...
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/9/5/8/1046958-48972-25-pristine.jpg)
...what in my opinion is necessary at least with respect to the stabilisers that carry the whole engine assemblies at their ends.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/1/7/5/1085175-48972-22-720.jpg)
Assembly of engines' gondolas started. I deviated a bit from the instructions here - locating tabs need to be removed, since they prevent closing the gondola's halves. Details of turbines are almost invisible, of course, and IMHO it will be easier to install the intake with the engine front after closing the gondola (instructions suggest to install the front before closing gondola's halves...)
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/5/4/6/1089546-48972-53-pristine.jpg)
Some progress here: I have installed temporarily supporting legs, that I intend to substitute eventually. Engines' gondolas are already closed, but some puttying and sanding is unavoidable here...
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/1/4/0/1098140-48972-94-720.jpg)
Proof of concept installment 😉
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/1/3/9/1098139-48972-79-pristine.jpg)
New, sturdy undercarriage manufactured and installed.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/0/6/5/1100065-48972-89-720.jpg)
Cockpit transparency masked with vinyl masks supplied with the kit. Since these originally are translucent gray I decided to paint them silver beforehand in order to keep better control when applying them. (In the background there is Tu-143 Reys kit from Clear Prop! that flew down from the shelf of the doom lately... the number of tiny parts and separate decals - including each and every stencil - is overwhelming taking into account that this is such a small plane...)
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/4/1/4/1101414-48972-20-pristine.jpg)
Fuselage and stabilisers painted, ready for decals.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/6/8/1/1101681-48972-68-pristine.jpg)
One of the gondolas served as a basis for determining the shape of red areas and producing the mask template.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/6/8/0/1101680-48972-69-720.jpg)
I manufactured the simple template for masks of the engines intakes, hope it will work..
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/8/8/1/1101881-48972-96-pristine.jpg)
Sneak preview 😉
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/3/6/1/1102361-48972-86-pristine.jpg)
Decals on!

She would be difficult to spot from the front, surely.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/7/2/8/1102728-48972-59-pristine.jpg)
Waiting for the missile.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/6/7/4/1105674-48972-88-pristine.jpg)
Light neutral gray wash added only to highlight the panel lines.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/6/7/5/1105675-48972-70-pristine.jpg)
I have screwed up the job on missile, frankly speaking. I do not like its shape, nevertheless. It is installed temporarily, as I am going to substitute it with something looking more spectacular...
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/0/3/6/1106036-48972-71-pristine.jpg)
New missile attached and I call her finished now...
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/0/3/8/1106038-48972-13-pristine.jpg)

![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/0/3/7/1106037-48972-33-720.jpg)
This missile looks much better IMHO, even though it is not so colourful and not adequate for the period...but, come on, this "Dever" could turn out so successful that it could be on active duty until now, don't you think so... 😉
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/0/9/7/1108097-48972-64-pristine.jpg)
This one especially for WhiteGlint 😉 In fact the airfield base was produced by my fellow-modeller Marcin Dudek.

Following! Thanks for your kind words, Robert. I'm looking forward to seeing you do this one!

BTW, does any of you, Gentlemen have an idea how a pilot's harness should look like here? I know not much will be seen after closing the fuselage, but I would like to add something verisimile made from masking tape or something like that...

How much weight should be put into her nose to prevent her from tailsitting, what do you think, Gentlemen? 😄

You're too kind, Peter, thank you 😉 Too early to judge adequately IMHO...

Following this one too of course ??
The kit is definitely more detailed than the Sharkit.
But it also looks like not easy to assemble after all.
Curious to see the next steps!

Welcome, Benoit! As usual with MikroMir kits, this one is deceptive - looks simple in the box, but needs some attention. Nevertheless, it goes together fairly easy as far.

That was a creative idea to use that jig 👍
Will you add some kind of launch pad later?

Quite interessing kit - SNCASO Dever. 👍
Nice progress on the build Robert - following....

Robert keeps bending time! That's how he finds the shops still selling these rare kits. 😄

I live in Eastern Europe, these kits arrive here later, Mark 😉

You really chose a very rare subject. Your progress and quality is very good.

At least now I am sure that these will keep the weight of the whole 😉

nice progress - The new legs really looks way better than the flimsy originals - top 👍

The scratch built supporting legs are a massive improvement on the originals. 👍

Now she's got some real nice legs. 😄
Keep up the nice work. 👍 I'm also looking forward to the launch pad. 😉

While assembling this model I am wondering who would be brave enough to fly the real thing, not mentioning the question of firing such a big rocket projectile from behind one's back in fact...

Something like "He's got a big fat missile up his *beeep*".
Looking good Robert!

you always build the best unique pieces!, I don't know exactly what it is 😅 but i like it very much!

Well said, Simon. Here here! It's looking 'sharp' already, and still more to be added! She's going to be a beauty 🙂

![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
Thank you, Simon 😉 if you take a look at my stash and completed models, you will easily notice that I have a soft spot for such bizarre machines... This one is a 'paper project' that, to the best of my knowledge, was intended as a 'point interceptor' and competed with "Trident":
SNCASO SO.9050 "Trident II" (MikroMir 72-019, 1:72)
which was actually built and flown and is preserved in Le Bourget museum.

I love the prototypes' hall and La Grande Galerie, of course! (which was under reconstruction when I was there last time, unfortunately...)
4 November 2021, 07:33
![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
Thanks, Juergen and Bruce - there is still the big fat missile to be installed 😉

![](/profiles/img/78784-523-s.jpg)
Looks like she is almost ready to launch. Off to the moon! 😄
4 November 2021, 11:41

Thanks. Bruce, you are too kind. I am going to substitute the missile with the more professionally looking one...

![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
I call her finished 😉 Now I have to think over the launch site...
9 November 2021, 07:48
![](/profiles/img/83984-935-s.jpg)
Much better missile Robert! The original drew the eye and looked too toy-like, making the whole model look a little so. The new missile makes the whole model more believable for me. Brilliant! 👍
9 November 2021, 07:56
![](/profiles/img/13641-502-s.jpg)
I'm sorry to say that, but that new missile&pylon set looks just too modern to me, like stolen form a Hornet or Viper 🙁
The original one had that classic comics look (similar to AA-3 Anab btw.)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-8_(missile)
9 November 2021, 08:14
![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
I agree with you, Łukasz, but the pylon was taken from the kit - I only substituted the missile
9 November 2021, 13:08
![](/profiles/img/72957-816-s.jpg)
Finished model looks great 👍 The new missile looks more threatening for a modern viewer. Interesting, that it could carry only one missile.
9 November 2021, 17:20
![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
Thank you very much, S M. There arise few more issues when looking at this project, e.g. how the pilot would enter the cockpit (and leave it after landing...) and how the process of attaching the missile would be executed...
9 November 2021, 17:42
![](/profiles/img/78784-523-s.jpg)
A rather impractical design for several reasons, still a looker though! 👍
Metal goes well with red.
9 November 2021, 18:10
![](/profiles/img/48972-166-s.jpg)
Thank you, WhiteGlint! Perhaps that's why it never left the drawing board 😉
@Łukasz - it is even a more exotic 'fusion-cuisine': French and Chinese, since I borrowed the missile from J-31 Gyrfalcon kit 😉

Album info
The title of this project is a loose translation of the question shouted by my LHS owner when I asked him to order this kit 😄
