the Hirth engine looks great - a nice base for super detailing
fit is unfortunately not perfect
painted up
ready to hide behind the cowling
added the slot with a razor saw
linkage added from stretched sprue
seats: Quickboost vs. ICM
how the heck are you supposed to attah the QB seat?
the seatbelts are completely obstructing the attachment
the seatbelts are completely obstructing the attachment
deformed seatpan = more work
linkage for the throttle added
made a slot for the cross bar on the rear seat
after a dip in hot water and some force
how it should fit
Quickboost/Aires garbage - not even close
fit on the wings isn't great (upper one already scraped and sanded)
it gets worse further out - not what I expect from ICM!
black base for the interior
MRP RLM02 is on
I tried to paint the frames a tad lighter than the sidewalls to make them stand out
base colour for the wooden floor
There's wood!
port sidewall
starboard sidewall - still missing the trim cable
the Quinta RLM02 is a tad light
Quinta instrument panels
right side completed with the trim cable
Quinta belts are on
a view of the Quinta IPs
front coaming fitting fine on port
horribly wrong on the starboard side
some gentle force and we're good
seamwork on the belly
did someone ordere orange peel?
slowly getting there
orange peel as well
the nose before sanding and re-rivetting
starting to look like a Buecker
cowling rerivetted
not my best, but acceptable
opened the exhausts
added a new pitot and wires
graphics for the custom masks are drawn
all rigging anchor points marked up
black base is on
more CA to address the ghost seam
much better!
base for the insignia
same on the fuselage - not so sure about the position tho
starting point for the underside crosses
the masks marked for alignment
pulled the white part with frisket film
and applied
same for the upper wing
and the fuselage
preparing the tail band
and painted with MRP RLM04
the first aid compartment door got its red cross
starting the NAGr3 emblem with white
yellow roundel
and masked
and done!
red eagle (terribly out of focus, but you'll get the idea)
the overlapping letters need a negrative mask
Tamiya tape to help with the alignment
underwing crosses and codes masked
masks for the fuselage codes are on
marble coat is on
up close
everything blended together with Gunze RLM65
tried to keep it irregular
masks pulled - what a view!
up close, a little bleeding on the cross and small ridges around the numbers.
Will repair with a slight polishing
Will repair with a slight polishing
RLM71 applied
masks pulled
stupid mistake wit the O - need to retouch
small error with the first J
looks fine from afar
not so happy with the paint bleed this time
the emblem turned out fantastic
Revell's decals really don't conform to the surface and are way too thick
decals applied
Added the eyelets as rigging anchor points.
Making all of them by twisting 0.2 mm copper wire took a while

luckily the original turnbuckles were heidden inside the cowling-less work for me
all rigging lines attached to the upper wing
the first one finished on the elevators

Great work on this kit, Joachim. The Quinta details look very nice.

Thanks Gordon - I'd place the Quinta details between precoloured PE and textile belts + individual instrument decals with the Quninta thingies the least work of the three 😉

Thanky guys - this was a first time for me and there's some room for improvement (especially with the line type), but it was a lot of fun to pull all the lines through the eyelets and see it coming together!

Great work on the flying wires! The eyelets really add to the look.

Thanks mates! I'll try tu use some thinner line next time to be able to pull the lines through the eyelets and the tubes!
