Blackburn Buccaneer S.2

Airfix' recent RAF Buccaneer kit, with CMK's resin cockpit. This build used the kit decals to create a close approximation of one of the six aircraft to fly in Operation Pulsator, a show of force mission over Lebanon in September 1983. It is armed with a Pave Spike laser designator for a CPU-123B Paveway laser-guided bomb, and also has an AN/ALQ-101 ECM pod and an AIM-9L Sidewinder for self-defence. The aircraft is posed as it would be on the ground, with the canopy open, flaps down, and airbrake deployed.
The kit itself was absolutely wonderful to build. Cleverly engineered and well-made parts meant that everything went together with minimal fuss. My only real criticism would be that the cockpit is Airfix' usual affair of flat panels and decals, which I am personally not a fan of, but besides that it was a truly fantastic kit.
