If you will blurr out the star and bars of US Navy, Marinecorps and Airforce aircraft, then it make sens. Otherwise, calm down.

I understand why people do this, on the other hand, it's also true to keep the eyes on the scalemodelling and the beautiful aircraft that have flown and are flying. (Have adjusted my first post to emphasize the model, no political statements, otherwise we're getting nowhere.)

Thank for comments.
About blurring: some modelers chose to not put swastika on WW2 German aircraft.
I choose to not display the nationality marks of a country, currently, in war again Ukraine which I support (and secondarily, I do not want to highlight a country who threatened mine with nuclear retaliation a few weeks ago! )
When this war will be history, i will stop blurring

Ton travail sur ce modèle, comme sur tes autres réalisations est absolument remarquable. Tout en finesse avec une patine subtile mais présente. Chapeau bas.

Hi JB, I see your point but in my opinion you should avoid posting photos in the first place or throw your model in the bin if the situation disturbs you. Having said that I believe that blurring markings (of every kind) and so on is total nonsense and a bit hypocritical. If we start analyzing what military models we build represent in History of mankind we should ban 90% of our work. So my humble recommendation is that we need to keep politics and disgrace out of this place and do what we do best: modeling. Cheers

I completely agree with Alessandro and political views in our hobby should not take place at all.

Nice build, agree with Alessandro, Roland and Alexander, let's just show our modelling and leave the politics for another forum. 👍

I like the work
I respect the blur
We should be thankful that the forum allows us to exchange our work and views freely. Lately, free expression and speech have become highly problematic for a lot of people.
With all due respect to all fellow mates here, war is certainly not politics. And the way I see it, there is a war going on for some 31 days now. One country invaded another country. People get killed. The repercussions out of this conflict are already affecting the entire planet. So, if a mate wishes to make a statement by blurring the insignia of the photos of this creation, I am certainly fine with this and we should at least respect it; not try to sensor it.
Modelling is a kind of art. Artistic creations, such as scale models, are a form of expression. We present our work in this forum because we want to express ourselves to mates from all over the world. So, all it takes is a little bit of respect, not a sensor.

Nobody is censoring anyone and everyone is free to express their opinion however, if you so do you accept others' opinion. We are just saying that the blur doesn't make any sense at all for the following reasons:
1. The Su-33 (this a beautiful one) is still there together with the other models and, as of today, only one nation operates it. If you want to show a "statement", which is legitimate, you might elect not to build or publish russian equipment at all, fair enough.
2. Blurring markings is just like canceling History, pretending events didn't exist at all. History MUST be studied AND represented entirely, NOT deleted or "suspended".
3. Right, it's not just politics but a war as well, like many others REGRETTABLE events (that we ALL testify with our work on this website) happened in the last 100 years worldwide.
So, to conclude, this social is meant mainly to share the results of our spare time which something ESSENTIAL in everyone's life and I strongly believe (just my opinion) it should be kept like that.
If we start promoting statements of ANY kind someone in the future might protest seeing pics of a B-29s or B-17s employed to OBLITERATE entire cities, or Waffen SS equipment responsible of all kind of atrocities, or soviet Mi-24s destroying villages in Afghanistan or US troops in Irak where white phosphorus was actually used and so on so forth, the list is reeeeeally long and very few countries are safe from blame.
"Coherence" is something very hard and dangerous to manage and should be dealt with very carefully.
Let's just model.
Cheers

@Roland Gunslinger:
C'mon Roland, don't quote Clausewitz now… It's out of context. You cannot compare political discussions in a modelling forum with events like an invasion of one country to another.
Btw, it's a misquote anyway: Check
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_von_Clausewitz
It reads: "Clausewitz had many aphorisms, of which the most famous is "War is the continuation of policy with other means." (frequently misquoted as "... politics by other means")."
I am glad I made your day 😊

@alessandro magrelli
I fully respect your opinion about blurring, but please allow me to disagree.
Ref your point #1: I don't see why we should criticize the way anyone wants to make a statement. We can either agree or disagree with a statement. But how it is expressed is the choice and responsibility of the originator, as long as it does not insult anyone.
Ref your point #2: Modelling is not history. It's up to the modeler to work on his subject as he likes and to present it to others if and as he wishes. My creations might not be accurate for whatever reasons (lack of my skills, lack of equipment, lack of references or sheer taste). You in turn might like my creations or not for whatever reasons (lack of accuracy, lack of details, failed weathering, or taste). History is written in books by historians. Not by modelers in their spare time.
I believe that the rest of your points fall in the general debate of the "swastika". E.g., my 1/48 F-4J VF-84 of the '70s might be a disgusting subject for a mate from Vietnam, in the same way I find the tail insignia of WWII Luftwaffe machines disgusting. Yet, we are all here presenting our work and exchanging views. As long as the exchange is not insulting anyone and everyone feels good being a member in the forum, then this community works as it should and everybody is happy to be here.
