French WW2 bicycle and soldier.
So, just one figure and a bike, but lots of new challenges.
The figure will be another day, so today it's the PE to focus on. The sheet is very thin, and the parts very, very fine.
The instructions are a little blurry, and not all parts are called up, so let's see how this goes.
Very fine spokes, so should look great.
All parts will be used, except for the luggage rack.
Each set of spoke comes in two halves. One pair joined, and second pair to follow. The holes for the axles are different sizes, so each pair of halves is different.
I used a drill bit to ensure the halves aligned, then trundled the pair though a small puddle of CA so only the rims are glued.
The next pair's hole was too small for my drill, so used a piece of stretched sprue.
This assembly definitely requires extra hands, so a více was used to hold the bike. 4 or 5 sprue attachment points have been cleaned up, leaving just the last two for the very end.
Progress so far.
An enjoyable half hour spent on the bike.
A little bit of highlights and shadows.
The left shoulder seam needs re-visiting....some filler and a rub down required.
Equipment added, but a few paint touch-ups required
Coming together... The bicycle pump was re-visited, to try to make its wooden handle stand out more.
Accidental lighting pleasing me lots 🙂

I spent most of the day holding my breath, adding tiny PE parts. Painting is going to have its challenges too....

Now that is some delicate casting and very delicate PE. Looks much more convincing that any other bicycle I have seen in this scale. Your alignment of the two PE parts of each wheel looks good too. Something I did not pay attention to when building my Harley. Anxious to see this one with paint.

Hi Micheal, I have a Harley too, waiting patiently until I have the skills to deal with the many tiny parts.... Yes, painting this is going to be challenging, as I deliberately chose not to pre-paint any part. Tiny brush and more breath holding tomorrow!

That's a fantastic looking kit; dynamo, bike pump, brake cables etc. So much detail and so well thought out. Looking forward to seeing the end result. Disappointed that the kit didn't include the cat seen on the box top illustration 😮D

There's always room for improvement, Neil, don't look too closely 😉
