BMW 320i VLN and WTCC - (Job Log)

Washed. 

I will build both vehicles at the same time.
I refined the parts while conceiving a paint plan.
The body shell was sanded after deeply engraving the panel lines.
Even though it was the latest product, there were quite a few contractions and steps overall. 

The parts that should be painted white are painted black to prevent light from penetrating. 

Painted white surfacer. 

Than, painted gloss white. (The body shell is already drying in the dryer) 

Finished one(WTCC car). It took about 3 hours. 

FYI, The WTCC decal also includes a livery for #15 car. 

Finished other one(VLN car). It took about 6 hours.
The quality of these two decals from SK decals is so good.
The print was sharp, thin, tough yet supple, and precisely cut, so it was not only stress-free, but also very enjoyable. 

The gray part of the wing also contains decals, but since you have to fold one sheet and attach it to the top and bottom, wrinkles will form easily if you stick it closely.
So, I simply masked and painted only the arrow area. 

The wheels are plated like a mirror, but when I looked for pictures of the actual car, it was a satin aluminum surface.
So, I lowered the gloss by painting the Vallejo gloss, matt varnish shown on the back. 

Masked. 

Painted gold to caliper. and Since the decal on the body shell was finished drying, I applied a clear coating. 

IPP Metalic Silver. 

IPP Stainless Silver. 

Gainotes Black Surfacer. 

I forgot windshield parts.
Masked with masking film. 

Unlike existing car kits, the edge of the windshield is to be attached with a decal.
But I'm used to the old way, so I decided to just paint it. 

Perhaps because it is specified to use decals, the line of the area to be painted on the windshield is not embossed.
So, I measured the width of the decal and masked it leaving an appropriate margin. 

And, black surfacer. 

Rough sanded. then I will clear coat again. 

Final sanding done. 

Polished with compound. 

Painted panel line. 

Masked to paint the wing posts (silver) and the inner sides of the vertical wings (black). 

Painted with hand brush. 

Ready to assemble. 

Assembled bottom.

Assembled inner parts. 

Decal was also applied to the all windshield. 

It is a difficult part if it falls off after completion, so it is better to fix it firmly. 

Finally, if you attach the small parts on the outside and assemble the upper and lower plates...
