Looks like you have some different set of photo etch than mine. With my Eduard photo etch, it turned out that the big doors in photo etch was shaped wrong, so I ended up using the plastic ones for the vierling.

Hi Treehugger. I have not got to doing the gun yet. But, I saw a YouTube build with the same PE set that I have. The PE gun shield seemed to be OK. Will see when I do the gun.

Pimping up a classic kit, and doing a bloody good job of it. Lovely so far. Looking forward to seeing this.

The photo etch is really fun for vehicles if one is a little careful (maybe less so for ships, because of the amount of PE, heh.
I found out my way of modeling is parallel modeling, and I bought some big plastic trays to try keep all the kit parts together, also using small plastic bags so the smaller parts doesn't vanish so easily.

Thanks Treehugger. I think that is the way to go. Do 2 or 3 projects at a time. Then you don't get burn out on one. I currently have 3 on the go. This, Tamiya's 1/32 Spitfire, and Zvesda Dreamliner. Spitfire & Dreamliner have been put on the back burner. I think I will start a new project soon too. Think I will make a start on the AFV Club Stryker next.

Quite nice so far. I like the underside. What colour will you chose for the tarpaulin ?
