Wow...I opened this before I left for Europe. It's been that plus dithering over the Catalina and deferring for the Seabee. Look at all the pieces....look at the inadequate color guidelines.

Heh...So, I've started in earnest. Building out the cockpit, as per usual. I know that this particular kit has an excess of interior detal which will never be seen...but I'm there dithering over what color I should be painting the interior. The reviews clearly state that there will not be enough light to see much of anything inside once the fuselage is closed. Yet...I am quite amused to find, what I'm guessing, without any identification in the instructions, is the craft johnny. I've never seen a kit with a johnny included before. (I was rather hoping that the Airfix Supermarine Stranraer might have one, given its reputation.) I'm assuming that the johnny would not be white (or 'tinted' white), but done in the prevailing interior color (I'm using RAF Interior Green, with the crisscross in aluminium).

Wings with landing gear together, gear flaps going on right now. Engines dray assembled in nacelles; I think I'll put a coat of white on the nacelles before attaching them to the wings. The fuselage halves are done and washed on the interiors, turret ready, tail wheel set, and waist guns attached in the trapezoid windows.

Fuselage together. Wings with engine and landing gear assembled. Fussing with painting; I've got the clear pieces for the nose and aft ventral gun port, but the flight deck is not yet done.
