The Büssing-NAG sWS Panzerwerfer 42 was a heavy German half-track that was reportedly build in small numbers, but only one confirmed. Intended to mobilize the Nebelwerfer. Photos and information on this vehicle are very rare.
The Büssing-NAG sWS, which stands for schwere Wehrmacht Schlepper, series was designed to provide the German army with a robust tractor which was easier to manufacture than earlier designs.
This kit, the 15cm Panzerwerfer 42 (Zehnling) rocket launcher variant, was equipped with the same armament as the earlier Panzerwerfer on the Opel Mauliter chassis (see separate review). The sWS version is a larger vehicle, and can be identified by the large overlapping rear road wheels.
I can't decide yet about the name:
- sWS munitionsträger
- sWS als Panzerwerfer-Munitionsfahrzeug
- sWS als Werfermunitionsfahrzeuges
