Finally completed my 69' Chevy Nova SS by Revell. It was a good quality kit. Very minimal amounts of flashing to cut or sand down. All the pieces lined up perfectly. I really enjoyed it.
I use the blue label Gorilla Super Glue. It's a medium vis and bonds fast when applied with a toothpick on the smaller components. For glueing along the lengthier parts, I put a small amount on a Q-Tip and run it along the piece. It applies cleanly, as the glue soaks into the swab very quickly. You can use the same swab a few times surprisingly.
My go-to brushes, also used on this project are: "Royal" # 12 & 10 shaders and 10/0 and 8 rounds. "Simply Simmons" # 2 round and 2 shader.
Because acrylic paints dry super fast and are more likely to retain brush lines, for the painting of the exterior, I use a cheap black paint sponge (craft store or dollar stores), I dip the tip in a tiny bit of water, quickly tap on cloth, take on some paint and apply in one long stroke. This dries instantly but what lines may show, vanishes. Takes about 5 coats. Gloss paint is obviously better than the matte blue I used but it's what I started with so I stuck with it. A gloss sealer applied with the same technique gives a great look for an acrylic piece. About 3 coats.
For the paints;
Craft Smart:
Gloss Dark Yellow, Gloss Tuscan Rad, Matte Med. Brown, Metallic Silver, Gloss White, Matte Bright Yellow, Matte Tan, Matte Olive Green, Matte Ash Grey, Matte Deep Grey, Matte Silve Grey
Apple Barrel:
Matte Black #20504, Matte Apricot #20764, and for the primary color, Matte Bright Blue #20225
Varnish:
DecoArt (DuraClear) Satin, and Gloss
That's 3 planes, 1 truck and this one.
