The interior looks pretty sweet. I have always been curious about the need for a sleeper on a tow truck. I suspect all towing companies stay local. I do not imagine there is a high demand for long haul towing.

Merry Christmas Bill. I think that they used them for storage mainly, and secondly to get changed, after extreme weather? I don't believe, that they were actually slept in? I'm sure someone will have a more in-depth answer though.

As an avid, Big Rig fan, this is awesome!
You knocked it out of the park, mate!!!
I was dubious about that sleeper, fitting in with the whole thing, especially as I've worked on both the cab and the rear body, but this is excellent!
The colour is perfect , there's just enough chrome, and not too many decals, to take your eyes off the build!
Fantastic mate! Very nice and well done 👍 🙂 🙂

Beautiful model! Considering how the resin day cab looked at the start it came out amazing well. Really love the dark grey and silver paint scheme. May adopt it for a future project...

Hi Gorby 👋
Another interesting one 😃👍
Nice project, they used 3wheel trucks like these at Cadburys factory as they need tighter turning circles round the plant.

Their turning circle was one of the reasons they where so successful. Do you have any association with Cadburys - other than eating their products of course. 🙂

One interesting thing to have in mind is that Gorby set to build the ancient 1962 tool of the Scarab and scratch the Mechanical Horse precisely when there appeared recent (and immeasurably better, as for the Scarab - I guess) 3d-printed 1:72 kits of both the Scarab and the French relatives of the MH (i.e. FAR tractors)... But that's Gorby (much to our delight!) 👍

I think they were built at Scammell Lorries Ltd in Watford.
In fact there is now a road in the area called Scammell Way.
Typical of Britain, close the factory and name a new road after it to remind us that we used to actually make stuff. 🙁

Great progress and entertaining narrative 🙂. The trailer wheels turned out nice, I can't imagine making something like that. Just curious: why not make one and cast a copy (I think you have done that in the past)? Or does this have to do with that logical thing…

Thanks for the comment mates. 🙂
Lex: Yes this is from the old Airfix kit. Quite enjoying the build so far - although that's probably because most of the build is scratch work. 😄
Alec: Typically the trailer wheels look like a different size to the other wheels in the kit which is why I had to cobble something together rather than cast them. I've been meaning to try and scratch wheels for a while so it was also a bit of an experiment. Hopefully future ones will be better.

My fire extinguisher handle was just offcuts laying in my scrap tub., ps it finished now will photo tomorrow.
Your right...a MC Donald's or frozen pizza box would be bit out of place 🤣 Fire ash, tin cans, spud peel n bit of dog poo most likely 😄.
Quite rewarding the scratch build l imagine.

Also if you don't mind me asking, what operation did your missus go through? Having to administer blood thinners sounds pretty serious.

Progress has been slow. I have a problem with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) so everything slows down including brain and enthusiasm. Particularly enthusiasm. It's the part of the year I have more difficulty working out how to make parts and usually the first or second attempts end in disaster before something passable emerges.
Perhaps I should drum into myself "Must do KITS in the winter…. Must do KITS in the winter..."

Looking good so far! I have the item on order, also planning to build a RAF Polish sqn from it, 315 in my case. Curious about your comment: What's wrong with the canopy? According to the manual a Malcolm canopy should be included?
Did you consciously choose the rear wheel bay color to be the same as the rest of the interior? My references show a zinc chromate yellow (e.g. Tamiya XF-4) for the rear wheel bay…

Thanks Thomas.
Yes, the Malcolm hood (aka blown) canopy is not present in my kit, only the "straight" one.
However I managed to modify it using some UV resin, it will have to do the job.
Regarding the rear wheel bay - yes I went for the yellow chromate (in my case the AK marker). My reference is AH's instruction 🙂

Bas, of course it's not AH, but it's well designed and goes together very quickly.
Similarly to Revell's Phantom, but way fewer parts to assemble, so the painting stage comes very fast.

Years ago when the girls were little, we would sit and watch anime. As for the gundam's always like them. I found that they were the perfect model kit to take with me on the road while working as they don't require glue and i could take them apart when I got home for painting.

The construction of the Fiat G.50 goes quite well in principle: few parts, in general well made, but the whole thing in coarse wall thickness and rough casting. But, that has to be said, a really nice kit! I added a little detail to the resin engine block. Most of it disappears under the cowling, so here are a few pictures of it.

A few steps further: the fuselage and wings are now ready to receive a first coat of paint - starting with the underside. Pre-shading and pre-lightening can still be seen on this pictures. The engine cowling is only attached and will be removed again for the rest. I have to say, the accuracy of fit is fantastic!

Hey Łukasz! I'm not to often here lately but wouldn't miss it for anything as I want to do the argentinian version. Sorry to see that this kit has such fit issues as I was hoping that it will be something more relaxing than the AZ kit. Thanks for tackling it - your build will be a great reference point for me as was your H-75 build!

I thought this kit would be a piece of cake for the hardcore modeler with experience in the more complicated models 😛
Good job so far, Łukasz!
Happy Holidays!

So, I did the painting today using the Light Ghost Gray on the undersides, according to the instructions.
But on top I diverted from their suggestions - I painted it using Sandy Brown (rough RLM79 equivalent) and a mix of Kaki Francais & Light Polish Khaki.
The P-36 bible (by Dan Hagedorn & Amaru Tincopa) states they were painted two shades of brown (the one in the museum painted in SEA camo moreless).
It looks bit too desertish to my eyes, what is your say mates?

Very nice progress Łukasz, the paint job looks excellent. As to the colors, I have no clue what they should be… but they look good to me 🙂 (I know, GREAT help…)

Welcome y'all!
I guess nobody has an idea anymore what it looked like, so I sprayed new colours on top.
I might add a filter, but that's moreless what it's going to be.

Glad to hear these colours make more sense.
In the meantime I managed to decal and wash it. The wash is not perfect, but it'll have to do the job.
I also managed to destroy the original mid part of the canopy and to scratch one, much thinner.
Btw the kit doesn't have any clue about the gunsights visible on the project banner 🙁 Not going to fix it, sorry.
The last strech ahead of me - need to fix couple of scratches I added during washing, then gun barrels, tail wheel , matt varnish and rigging.
Might be my last build this year.

Muchas gracias! I'll refrain from sending the wishes as I plan to deliver this little bugger tomorrow onto the shelf, just in time to close the 2024.
Meanwhile I just had to add the gunsight(s?), found the spare ones from Eduard in my stash.
The fact that the C&P pitot is actually made by Master took me by surprise - can we mark it as a rebox? 😉
My dog couldn't allow me to forget of the oys of having pets in your house and I had to remove some hair from the undersides.
Last but definitely not least - I highly recommend using wire for the tailwheel, the plastic part breaks off very easily, guess how I know? 😄

So, I can already wish a happy new year to all of you mates.
The Thai Hawk won't be the last of AD 2024 - the more I hurry, the more I do the damage.
So the plan for the New Years Day is to repaint the left side of the cowling which currently displays a lot of CA glue that I had on my sticky fingers.
Looks like 16 completed builds is the maximum I can finish in 365 days.

Thank you and likewise - all the best and more completed builds in 2025.
I took on the underwing guns today and oh boy! No chance I could have finished this kit last year 😁

Looks great, Łukasz! 👍
You will always remember not being able to complete one more kit in 2024 because of those guns, but in exchange you will have one less kit to complete in 2025 😛

True, señor, very true 😄
Such a struggle, but what a cute little fighter it is! Hope you like the final pics as much as I do.
Unfortunately it's very dark in here again and I had to use the LED light to take pictures 🙁

Dear all, many thanks for all the likes, I didn't expect so many!
As you can see, for the moment I have collected some materials (I have also the decals from the Italeri kit).
I've started the assembly "backwards", starting from the recce pod and the missiles. The Revell Kit is wonderful, and contains many parts suitable also for the Italians ECRs. Let's see what I could obtain...
