Kesa TihoScale models can be converted? So like a F111 model could be fitted with a nuke even though the original model didnt have one?

gorbyDefinitely Kesa, there is a whole range of aftermarket conversions you can buy or if you are feeling adventurous, some conversions are reasonably easy to scratch build yourself. I have a couple of drawers full of plastic sheet of various thickness and plastic and metal rods, tubes, strips etc. I once saw a fantastic large scale scratch build of a B17 build that used the plastic from yogurt pots as the skin.

Thanks Spanjaard. That B17 is one of the best scratch-builds I've ever seen - well beyond my ability. I think he sold it to a museum in the US.

You could be right David. In the photo the load isn't attached to the crane hook but a hoop on the jib, as you say, probably using a hand winch. I have three photos of the back of various versions of this vehicle and none of them shows anything which might be used to control the crane, so obviously I can't add what I don't see. Thanks for your comment. 👍

Nick DragoneIs it me or is everyone who builds aircraft models getting a little tired of new EXPENSIVE kits that have many decal options but never seat harnesses forcing you to go to the aftermarket to make another expensive purchase?! Honestly 80% of the aftermarket brass for aircraft isn’t necessary and most of the time never seen especially in 1:72 scale. I started making my own harnesses from tape or wine bottle lead and the results are as good as expensive aftermarket items. Just a thought because most new kits claim to be the latest and greatest of everything. I seem to recall the same sentiments from the 80’s and 90’s about Hasagawa and Tamiya kits which STILL are some of the best out there

Mr DI've seen the after market kits sell for more than the model kit.
As you say once the cockpit is enclosed you see very little of it.
I had a photo etch part that didn't fit correctly n made job more difficult...it was on the side of the seat, had to cut corner off, it could have easily been moulded in as part of seat brace.
In some areas it works well, it's fun to make your own parts too, the foil of a hot chocolate lid works good for belts n thin metal parts.

Nick DragoneThe point I'm making is that new kits are already expensive and should include seat harnesses at a minimum. I'm all for AM products and use the particular on ship models, but the prices are very high and a simple seat harness wouldn't hurt.

BozzerSorry to chip in, MS, but this may help you in the future.
When you remove the chrome, there's a residue underneath. That's sometimes, the reason why there's imperfections in the chrome. The residue is some form of clear coat, that's used before the chrome? That can be removed by soaking in brake fluid, for a while. I've had this issue, mainly with Revell chrome, and it doesn't look great. Sometimes, there's a huge blob, and they just chrome over it. Quality control, needs a kick up the butt, at the factory.

MS K@Matteo Pescarin - There are printers that can use white custom toner. However, it is not as opaque as the commercial decals, so it honestly falls below my expectations.
What I use is ghost white toner.
At first, I planned to buy an Alps printer, but I had no choice but to give up because it only supported Windows XP.
