Oh, I got this interesting idea just now. Re. 1:350 ship model base..
Might look good with two flat styrene sheets glued together, and two pins or some sort to lift the model off the base.
I'll try this with my HMS Naiad light cruiser, as the included ship base is the standard terrible variety. 🙂

It sold on ebay for $90 USD plus $14.69 shipping. It was an open box. There's another sealed one for $129 USD. I don't have one yet for my collection, but I'm looking.

In the directions, they supply a mask. Don't cut it out. Save the directions and just trace the mask. I then copied mine onto some large masking tape and used that. The application of the decals can be tricky. There's little marks, that show you where to put the decals. Pay attention to those, and you can't go wrong. And take your time with the air cleaner and exhaust plumbing. Test the best way to do it. Whatever works best for you, is the way to go. Good luck with your quest to find it. To date, it's my favourite kit to build. I really enjoyed, making mine.

I forgot to reply back earlier. Thanks for the building tips, I'll keep them in mind when/if I obtain a copy of this vintage kit.

No worries mate, always happy to help. There's actually one of these in my country, for sale, but the shipping is expensive. I guess it depends on how badly you want it? I just bought a firetruck from Poland, and paid for the shipping. It was still cheaper than the one in my own country though! You just have to keep your eyes open and do your numbers. 👍
