I messed up multiple things on my first paint job: tried to make my own wash with acrylics (big fail, got some proper enamel wash since), some paint layers were too thick and were hiding details, the masking I originally used was way too messy and was hiding more than the clear parts.
After a lot of time trying to fix my mistakes I decided on resetting the paint job by stripping it with some paint remover.
Here is the model re-primed and properly masked - I got some masking fluid and some sponge since my first try and it seems cleaner this way. I had to keep the tail section as-is because I already applied some decals.

I also got some Micro Kristal Klear to glue the clear parts, and I will also try to use it to make the 2 very small windows just under the main rotor housing (the parts provided in the box did not fit very well and were quite hard to place properly)
