Merkava III with Antislip and battle damage
Комментарии
Love the build and weathering - I would imagine this tank went through Gaza given the missing plates and scarring.
Thanks! According to the picture I saw, it might have been Lebanon 2006, or at least not the current conflict in Gaza, but I am not sure.
I say this for a couple of reasons:
- The regular merkava III is a bit dated and I'm not sure if they are using it now
- The wheels were muddy a bit (yet dry), which I would imagine are more suitible the type of sand that is not like in Gaza, as I belive it is a beach
- The tint of the dirt was more brown than yellow, again something less common of Gaza
Album info
This is a Revell Merkava MK.III. I got this one at a sale, and imidietly wanted to recrate an image I saw of a Merkava that was hit by an RPG that was defeated by the reactive armor, but made the two plates fall.
I'm back in this hobby after 15+ years, and was ammazed by some the things people do theses days in moddeling. I really took the time to do as many techniques as possible on this one. I used:
- home made antislip with sand (it's not in scale, I know)
- Battle damage
- Color madulation
- Oil filthers
- Pin shade using oils and enemals
- speckling (not in scale, first time I do this)
- Storage with epoxy putty
- Antenne from a Guitar string
- weathering with mud
This is the first time I'm using all of these things, I despite not successeeding on all fronts, I'm somewhat happy of the result. There is much room to improve:
- I've missed a couple of points to sand the seem lines
- I've not fuilled some gaps with putty
- Some decals were destroyed
- Storage with eopxy putty is completely shapeless
