Salamander.....
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/2/8/5/1740285-26091-86-720.jpg)
Nice thin wheel well covers.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/2/8/6/1740286-26091-96-720.jpg)
The front wheel was cast a a solid block with it's forked frame. A hole was drilled through, then scraped to a better shape with a sharp blade.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/2/8/7/1740287-26091-28-720.jpg)
The legs fit into square holes, so the undercarriage is positioned correctly
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/2/8/8/1740288-26091-64-720.jpg)
The covers have dove-tailed tangs that slide laterally into recesses, so they are held firmly in the right locations. These could be hidden, but I'm going to leave them 'as is'.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/2/8/9/1740289-26091-15-720.jpg)
Yes, it's a tail sitter and there are no voids that could hide some lead. Perhaps a space could have been drilled out, below the cockpit. Next time....
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/2/9/0/1740290-26091-62-720.jpg)
Taking shape, though some parts are just dry-fitted.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/2/9/1/1740291-26091-56-720.jpg)
Waiting for primer.....
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/6/4/9/1749649-26091-44-720.jpg)
Primer has arrived, so some progress can begin ...
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/6/5/0/1749650-26091-87-720.jpg)
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/6/5/1750265-26091-69-720.jpg)
Okay, here we go....The primer is grey-green, so I am going to make use of it on the upper surfaces.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/6/6/1750266-26091-69-720.jpg)
Some parts of the jet intake and exhaust will be metallic, so I can experiment with different grey and silver mixes.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/6/7/1750267-26091-30-720.jpg)
Slate grey will be the second colour, which is a darker green shade.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/2/6/8/1750268-26091-33-720.jpg)
Yes, it's a tail-sitter....
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/2/6/9/1750269-26091-93-720.jpg)
The canopy clips in, with large flanges to each side, which project into the cockpit. I painted them black, and added some white dots, as pretence control panels to each side of the seat.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/2/7/0/1750270-26091-78-720.jpg)
I need to touch in the paint on the canopy frame
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/2/7/1/1750271-26091-41-720.jpg)
The HUD is visible through the canopy. The gap over the wheel had to be carved from the solid block of the supporting forks!
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/2/7/2/1750272-26091-30-720.jpg)
I'll let everything cure for a day or two, before seeing how I feel about it, and before a gloss coat prior to decals
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/2/7/4/1750274-26091-45-720.jpg)
So far so good!
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/8/9/2/1750892-26091-89-720.jpg)
Trying to soften the blotchy camouflage, but may re-visit further....
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/8/9/3/1750893-26091-69-720.jpg)
Trying to create some variation in the steel panels.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/8/9/4/1750894-26091-70-720.jpg)
Clear coat has been applied, and it seems to have toned down the contrast of the silver-grey panels.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/8/9/5/1750895-26091-29-720.jpg)
Looks better? All comments welcome 😉
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/1/8/8/1753188-26091-17-720.jpg)
Clear coat then Decals.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/1/8/9/1753189-26091-40-720.jpg)
The clear coat has toned down the contrast of the metallic paint.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/1/9/0/1753190-26091-73-720.jpg)
Clear coat over the decals.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/1/9/1/1753191-26091-14-720.jpg)
Okay, let's see where touch ups are required 😉
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/1/9/2/1753192-26091-93-720.jpg)
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/1/9/3/1753193-26091-38-720.jpg)
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/1/9/4/1753194-26091-94-720.jpg)
![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/2/7/9/1753279-26091-32-720.jpg)
Scratched an instrument panel from a piece of sprue. Gauges drilled and painted, so they catch the light better.
![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/2/8/0/1753280-26091-24-720.jpg)
Some thin tape to suggest the harness straps.

Wow! That's quite a collection! Glad I hadn't seen it first, Robert, or I'd never be able to decide 😉
