Peugeot 206 2000 Rally San Remo Panizzi

Crooked rear wing......shocking.

Almost there....

I had poached the rear wing from this kit....and forgot. I couldn't find the wing and turned the room upside down looking for it. I then had to search through all my extra 206 parts and couldn't find a wing.....everything else, but not a wing. Turns out I was clever enough to hide the Winner version wing in another 206 kit, buried DEEP in the stash. I then had to remove the slats and sand all of that down.

Credit to whomever I bought the kit from for doing the carbon on the seats.

Tried to paint the knobs n such with my less than stellar eyesight. ....could be worse.

I thought I could just throw the prepainted pieces of this kit all together and that has not been the case. The body had so much lint in the finish that I had to sand the whole thing down and repaint it all...including the tedious trim. But I got that out of the way.

I had thought that having a "prepainted" kit would save me some time..... but I had to repaint everything except the chassis! And Whomever, painted everything with a brush ON the sprues! A beautiful shade of gold for the brake calipers that I DON'T have! Cut them off the sprue, and now there are white spots needing to be touched up. Can't help but chuckle.

I bought this prepainted.....using a brush......YUCK! I get to sand out seams and paint. FUN!

Most of the pieces are under carriage, so they're not that visible......but I stay awake at night knowing there are seams and that they must be eliminated! I think I botched the body paint job and I hadn't noticed on its original project. I just went over the lint - think HAIR - with 600 to 2000 and that took care of it. Mostly, I just thought it was funny that whomever I bought this kit from had gone to that much trouble to paint pieces ON the sprues with a brush, only to be done over with a rattlecan OFF the sprues.

I feel your pain. I'm currently sanding tanks on a truck. Tanks that will never be seen, yet I've spent a few hours already on them.

The TS4 German Grey isn't nearly dark enough for the dash. Or, the actual color of the dash should be black, but the instructions called out for German Grey......I dunno, Tamiya.

Sometimes, it's easier to use a thin Sharpie, for knobs and buttons. It dries fast, so if you make a mistake, you can touch up, more or less, straight away. I also use a Sharpie for window rubbers, etc

Damn thing fought me at the end! I couldn't get the wheels to go into those wonderful gaskets and then the side mirrors refused to fit. I don't recall having had those issues before. Only TOO happy to finish. P.S. no harnesses, sorry. I can't see well enough to use PE buckles and the decals just look too fake, so......them Panizzis were brave!
