July 8, 2024Prepping some H3 figures that'll go into this diorama.2
July 8, 2024A base coat of olive drab sprayed over the sub-assemblies. For the primary body assemblies, I sprayed an undercoat of hull red and chipping solution and simulated heavy wear underneath that'll let me control the amount of wear I want to bring out in the next layers: another olive drab base coat and color modulations.3
July 9, 2024Detail work on the wheels. A base coat of olive drab, a clear coat, rubber painted with tire black, an AK dark umber pin wash, and a slight olive drab color modulation sprayed overtop everything to bring them together.4
July 9, 2024For the seats, I went with an olive drab base coat, with a series of khaki and buff glazes, before a clear coat and dark umber wash. Still some work to do here to clean up the frames, but I'm liking the effect on the seat surfaces themselves.5
July 9, 2024Olive drab color modulation. I started with a coat of chipping solution, then airbrushed each modulation layer on top. Once done, I went back with water and a stiff brush to expose some of the original chipping detail around the interior and body.6
July 9, 20244 shades of olive drab for the color modulation. Base was standard olive drab from Vallejo. The darker shade was olive drab, with dark green and mahogany. The two lighter shades were combinations of olive drab, khaki, and buff.7
