Decals in the kit were replaced with a bunch of spares box pieces from other jets. These were painted later on for a more realistic rendering of the forward cockpit.
The kit-supplied canopy was not tinted, so I airbrushed a small amount of Tamiya Smoke acrylic on the inside. It was not as dark as the real aircraft's tinting in the end, but this actually allowed for a better view of the interior details. Not a bad trade-off!
The S-3 Viiking was a welcome addition to my naval aircraft "fleet". Flanking it here is an F-14D Tomcat (left), and an EA-6A Intruder (right).

S-3 A/B Viking by Italeri. This is a sub hunter, but fulfilled many roles in the US Navy including bomber, and air-air refueler. The parts fit was pretty good, and the kit built up to an impressive addition to my naval plane fleet. I chose a white and gull grey paint scheme, rather than the all-grey box art colour. The cockpit lacked some detail, so I combined spares box additions with some scratch building to raise the kit up to my own standard.
