I tried to do without AM but couldn’t find the right grill in my spares. It’s very unique so I forced myself to buy the Eduard mesh.

This is set for a later series interior with the radio set on a rack on the right behind the driver.
Earlier versions had all the sets and probably auxiliary equipment on one shelf stretching across the complete width of the vehicle - facing forward at the backs of both driver and radio operator. The commander would be kind off cut off at the back at least out of view.
It may be that the radio op could swing his back rest against his hatch and maybe sit side ways - not sure.

That’s the sheet roller that controls fresh air into engine. Cold weather it’s closed up like this 

 

 

The interior isn’t the main focus - but there will be something interesting to see through the open top
