Finish in Alclad, Chris? Wow ...
... a high goal you've made!
For this I wish you a skilled hand, and - of course - also for the other works on this beautiful and great model! 👍

A huge thing... with a nice wooden floor 👍
I've got one in 1:72, it was almost to big for my shelf...

Yes - a light base (desert yellow) and brown oil paint. Very easy and very effective.

... Not going to go too crazy on this one .... considering the size of the finished model ... a good one 😉
But to be honest, a good start. I like your painting style. I'm curious for more....

No one here is a freak Clifford.... maybe a little obsessed... but not freakishly so! Here is my attempt to do 3 different 'woods' in the bomber nose section

Looks very promissing. The nice wood finish even gives a 'cosy' feel to the flying coffin.

Hi Hunter - if you mean the 'wood' then here is how I did it:
Step 1: Tamiya Desert Yellow (and mix in some white for different shades)
Step 2: Brush on a layer of gloss (future)
Step 3: Brown oil paint - I dab a few spots but you don't have to worry too much about how to put it on, you will be removing most of it in the next step
Step 4: Use a dry brush to 'clean' the oil paint off the surface. To make a convincing wood grain, just go in the same direction for the entire piece. It takes forever to dry so you have a lot of time to work with the paint. If you took off too much, just dab some more oil paint on
Step 5: LET IT DRY!
Step 6: Dull coat

Album info

Not going to go too crazy on this one - some aftermarket (wheels, barrels for guns and some decals). Hoping to do a nice alclad II finish on this one.
