Nice workstation. I also would like to have the space to work in our appartment and not have to go downstairs at the basement .... 🙁

I tried to reorganize my workplace. I build bigger table U-shaped. Also I used a storage shelf to stash all my models. And lastly I build a set of shalves based on the idea taken from the store: hobbyzone.pl/en/12-modular-workshop-system/ (I needed different size of shelves and another dimensions of holes for jars so it was agreed with shop/company owner that I'm authorized to build it for my needs so no copyright were violated).

Very nice Space! is that the system from hobbyzone.pl? I've been looking at that too as I don't like my current paint stands very much...What are your experiences with this modular system?

Przemek Przybulewski
Thank you Holger and Marko.
It took me few years of thinking and few weeks of doing it. But it was totally worth it.
Now we (me, my wife and son) have enough space to do whatever we want seating in one room at one table.

Very nice workspace, indeed! 👍 👍

@Wim:
For me personally, the hobbyzone paint racks have two major disadvantages, compared to, f.i., the Ammo of Mig paint racks.

1. once the bottles are in the rack, it is impossible to read the labels. So I found myself continuously taking out bottles to look for the one I need.

2. they take quite a bit of space, since they are stepped.

The Ammo of Mig racks allow you to still read the labels on the bottles/jars and they are built to take as little space as possible. For both these reasons I am replacing all of my hobbyzone racks with the Ammo of Mig ones.

Oh, fun fact: the Ammo of Mig racks were manufactured by hobbyzone as well 😉 the hobbyzone logo is stamped in the wood and it is exactly the same material & construction method.

Czesc Melf - Thank you.
John - Thanks.
HobbyZone is also building a hanging paint shelves: hobbyzone.pl/en/stan..28-paint-hanger.html
As for my type - my table is 80cm deep and my shelves are taking 20cm leaving about 60cm of free space on the table. If I would like to hang those racks on the wall it would almost impossible to reach for the paints - my arm are simply not long enough 😉. Also I build my shelves in the way that you are able to read the label (it was one of conditions) - steps are not so deep so it allows you to see what is the paint code/number.

This Hobbyzone stuff looks seducing! And its not so pricey... Shall i? Yes i will but have to take measures of my bench first...

Holger - from my perspective it was too expensive - those modules are quite small. When I made some calculations it came out that I would have to buy at least 4 and probably 6 shelves for paint as it has only 26 holes for 36mm jars. I use mostly Tamiya paints and they have smaller jars which are 35mm and bigger which have 40mm diameter - I would have to put them on bottle rack. Anyway I have around 150 jars so 6 shalves was just a waste of space. On mine rack i can put 45 of 35mm jars and 30 of 40mm jars. But I someone is using Valeyo or Ammo of Mig paints those HobbyZOne racks are perfect.

It is a great system anyway, I copied some of the ideas. Please take a look at video:

Great looking desk system. Wish I had that kind of space!

Thanks Gordon. To be honest room is not so big that's why I had to think of some system, how to put my stuff. In many cases it is filled up to the ceiling to use available space as much as possible.

There's something "Crazy Church Organ" about the wee corner unit with the rack of holes going round 🙂
