Somtimes I get surprised how gems like this don't get any attention (2 days, no comments).
Anyways, you've made a beautiful Hawkeye! 😄 How was the fit, and the build? I associate Kinetic kits with complex builds (even though they might not be) 😛

Vegard, I am struggling to find the right words here for your 'Hawkeye', so I will try not to 'gush' too much, BUT, how sweet it is to see the flawless results you have presented here, and nothing was missed I see. and 'Gem' say it all mate, just beautiful. 🙂 👍 👍 👍.

Thanks everyone. @Vegard thanks for the heads up. The build was pretty straightforward. No big problems. One thing to keep in mind is that the kit in this configuration is a major tail sitter. I put some 150gr into the forward partner the fuselage to counter it. This ment I also had to use metal landing gear. The decals concerning VAW-124 were home made, using scale 1/72 decal set as reference. The fonts I picked up from the internet.
@Kerry, no problem mate. You know that.
@Mike, actually the bird is not much bigger than a Tomcat. Yes, I know, the Tomcat is big...

Album info

This is the well known Kinetic Hawkeye. It is the first in a serie dedicated to the Gulf of Sidra incident on 17 August 1981. Two Libyan Fitters were shot down by two Tomcats from VF-41. The interception was coordinated by a Hawkeye from VAW-124 Bear Aces. There are no decals available of VAW-124 during this period on board the USS Nimitz so I had to make some myself.
