Yeah, he's done very well, and I would love to see what he does it with, (besides his fingers) :-P

Thanks guys!
Although the PE is small, it's far from impossible to handle it with some narrow tools. Even the scalpel is good for bending and moving the stuff around.
Thing is, I got some comments when I built the little 1:144 Eduard Quadrupel without cockpits last year, and that got me thinking. It REALLY would look nice with a tiny Spit with open door and canopy and a detailed cockpit 🙂
So, hope I can pull it off...
This far I'm a bit disappointed with the Eduard PE, the colour is completely wrong. It's more blue-green than the correct pale-green.
I didn't really see any way to repaint the PE, so I'll just leave it as it is.

Thats my scale. Nice to see that someone else builds the Minis. I have the Spit in stash too and am excited to see how the result Looks. What versions are you going to build?

Hi Björn!
I'm thinking of building MJ250 and MJ296. I really like the Spit in the normal camo with sky spinner and tailband, but I've never built a metallic one before. So I'm thinking camo for the closed one, and metallic for the one with open canopy/door.
Here you'll see my first attempt at the 144-scale:

nice work so far. I had the same problem with the eduard cockpitkit and bought the brengun one to... a real gem...

@Björn: a lot of 1:144 are built here, I'm also one of those microbuilders...

So, the painting is done, next stop water-slides!
I'm thinking about the Alclad Chrome one, shall I cover it with Pledge or perhaps Alclad Gloss Clear before the waterslides? I'm a bit afraid that a clear-cote will ruin the shiny chrome-finish. How do you guys do with water-slides on an Alclad surface???

Well, I'm done. They came out OK I think. Didn't really like the vacu-canpoies - my first try with vacu. Took a lot of grinding and I never really achieved the fit I wanted. But the metal-one looks pretty nice with the exposed cockpit.

Album info

Will use the Eduard PE-cockpits and Bren Gun canopys for these two. I will build one of them with open canopy and open door.
