Thank you guys. First pictures will be uploded soon. This kit only contains 229 parts, but i am happy about it. Sometimes its good to build a kit that have less then 500 parts. 😄
As for the tracks, i am also curious about the Bronco kit. 🙂

Me too mate as I've got both as well together with PE for it as well. But then again I've got the uparmoured version as well with Bronco tracks and PE for that as well. Yes I know, I'm crazy...

Why crazy? 😄 At first i was also thinking to use the PE set but decided not to. I am going to use it for the upgraded version that i will build in the future. 🙂

But of course, I'm a modeler so I'm crazy by definition as I suffer from AMS... 😉

It might have only 229 parts but if you add the Bronco pieces you will go over 500 😄 (just like any other more recent kit)

Don't worry about the tracks, Ingo! I built my Bronco Challenger tracks during PMCL event in Lübeck. Easy and fun! The Ariete tracks won't be different.

Uups, pic 10, already glued together? The first link should have bars on both sides that you can close the tracks once completed the links.

Lower hull and wheels are finished. Started with the build of the tracks for one side. Each side has 86 track links. It took me about four hours to cut and clean the 258 parts. You have to be careful while removing and cleaning the parts with the guide horn or you will break them. Thats the right part on picture nine.

👍 Perfect, Ingo!
Wow, you prepared all links in a row? I admire your patience! I always prepared parts for 10-20 links, glued them, prepared the next ones, glued.... and so on.
You're right with guidehorn links. Challenger ones were also a bit weak. After removing the first links, I started cutting the sprues into parts to take away the "pressure".

I was playing Armored Warfare and cleaning the parts during the breaks when my tank was destroyed or while waiting to join a match. Thats the only thing that kept me sane. 😄 😄 😄
The parts with the guidehorn are really a bit weak. I always cut the part with a little bit of spure so i can sand it away. But this time sanding it was nearly impossible. I had to remove the rest of the spure carefully with a knife. :/

One side is done. Cutting and cleaning will take the most time. Connecting the track links is very easy and fast. Took me about an hour to connect all the 86 pieces.

Thanks James. Yeah the tracks are really good. Its hell of a work, but in the end its like creating a master piece. 🙂 The best thing is that i can move them around without being afraid that they may fall apart like clickable tracks.

Building the turret while the lower hull and the wheels are drying. Filled some holes on the turret and the Collimator. First time using the Vallejo plastic putty and i must say its a very good putty. I tryed to imitate the cables on the smoke discharger like seen on the real one.

Lower hull is finished, installed the wheels and tracks. Had to remove one track link because it was too long and would sag after the idler wheel and between the last wheel and drive sprocket.
It was hell of a work to install the tracks and connect the both ends.
Now i have to paint the connection track link and continue with the turret.

Finished the build. Some minor filling and sanding work was done on the turret. I have replaced all the grab handles and also the towing cables. The grab handles from the kit are no good. Same goes for the towing cable, its a simple cotton thread. Both mirrors had to be filled with plastic card to hide the sink marks. Some details like cabling and other stuff were added to the turret.

Primed the whole tank black (no pivctures), then used Tamiya NATO green for the base color. Afterwards added several layers of toned down green. Tried this technique for the first time, i think it looks ok.

Finished! It took me more then a month to finish it but it was very fun to build. Building a model slowly, adding additional parts and trying out new paint techniques is much more fun then rushing through the build. Some new experience for me.😉 😄

Yes, it's a much better experience to take it slow and careful than it is to rush a build!

Thanks James! Yeah i also think thats my best model till now. So be ready from now on you will see only such builds or even better. 😄 😄 😄
I know it took me some time to realise but from now on i will take time to build and paint a model. No rushing with the build.

Excellent model, Ingo!👍
The shading of the single colour surfaces appears very nice.
