Steampunk Car

Album image #1
The final result

Album image #3
The two halves of the Talbot

Album image #4
What's also in the box

Album image #5
Some more stuff that might come in handy

Album image #6

Album image #7

Album image #8
The turbine idea got scrapped later 🙁

Album image #9
marriage of steam engine and car

Album image #10
The Talbot cockpit with some minor surgery

Album image #11
The original wheels from the Heller car are actually quite nice

Album image #12

The steam engine itself

Album image #14

Album image #15
Hope nothing goes wrong on

Album image #18

Album image #20

Album image #38
Every proper diorama should have a phone booth

Album image #39
These decals are pretty good

Album image #40
Somebody want to weld something

Album image #41
If you'd think this' looking creepy, I'd concur

Album image #42
The pilot was supposed to be an (albeit cheap) 1:24 figure but looks like a child in comparison. My self-made goggles are, erm, also slight out of proportion :-/

Album image #43
The close-up of my 1:24 figures are not really flattering for my painting skills.

Album image #44
Brigitte LaFayette looks good, thoug, which is mainly due to the fantastic molding of this Scale75 figure.

Album image #45
Dress rehearsal (the infamous Professor Catmeister has everything under control from his elevated vantage point on the garden table)

Album image #46
Some of this stuff will be used, some not 🙁

Album image #47
The infamous Professor Catmeister sports a stylish vest and hat as well as goggles and whiskers (from rigging wire)

Album image #48
A little bit of progress (not much - due to lack of time), the base...

Album image #49
...uses some elements from the Doozy Model Works Sets

Album image #50
This 3D printed diorama accessories are quite OK

Album image #51
Final layout (bird's eye)

Album image #52
Prelim arrangement (I am always guilty of the sin of putting-too-much-stuff-into-a-too-small-space)

Album image #53
Main focus

Album image #54
Welder girl

Album image #55
Why the gun(s)?

Album image #56

Album image #58
Lighting test 2

Album image #59
Steampunk needs gears (these are actually from thingiverse.com and are printed nicely even on my entry level Dremel 3D printer): thingiverse.com/thing:623706/#files and thingiverse.com/thing:684376/#files

Album image #60
Finished (except for the temp backdrop - of course - there will be no Gary Larson cows driving a tractor later!)

Album image #61
Some fun with effects within Photos

Album image #62
The fuel is surprisingly cheap at Claudi's Emporium...

Album image #63
If you charge more than ten bucks, girl, I'll shoot you!

Album image #64
Tough

Album image #65
Jolly

Thanks everyone!

There is always stuff to improve but I called it complete today. The kit-bashing of the Talbot with the steam engine was easily the most fun I had in modeling!

Up to the next project (whatever that will be)...
