Thanks, these ICM kits are very detailed and it really helps. The eduard interior makes all the difference as well. the only bad thing are the plastic struts that hold the wing are very fragile and always break into 3 or 4 bits so the wing is a nightmare to fit correctly
Anyway i think that in about a week it will be finished hopefully

Thanks 🙂 but i think i will only be able to carry on on this one after i finish the sabre and the kingfisher which should be somewhere just after the weekend.
With around 4 aircraft 3 cars 1 1:24 40 ft cargo container trailer and a 1:144 space shuttle on the workbench i need to clear some space first lol

You have nine kits on the go at the same time! For the first time every, I'm about to try doing two at the same time.

that is multitasking! good to let one dry for example when you work on another. but i think i will get crazy with nine models at the same time 🙂

Thanks Spanjaard for the compliment, as i work from home i am able to manage my time and that is the reason why i have always a lot WIP or thinking about new ideas.
As my pleasure has always really been building and not really possessing them i only kept a few (most of them were gifted or as i had a friend who was a director of an elementar school i gave him the models so that the children could see them in his office), so only now i am keeping them all and imagining ways to build different display cabinets (odd ideas but really practical and quite Feng Shui lol.

much better organized than me, i see 🙂
i am interested on those display cabinets ideas, share them please, we all probably can make use of them 🙂

sure i'll share, my feeling is that we all have this common issue of no space for display, specially the married kind of modeller lol
I've come up with a few ideas all of them quite cheap, interesting with a lot of space and above all appealing and even kind of feng shui to convince the dearest halves to accept them 😉

1 - a set of shelves, IKEA sells basic shelves measuring (i will refer to cm - metric system) 79cm x 19 cm x 1cm. you will need a light wood plank (not heavy) to use as support for the shelves (this may be painted or as i have found out a mirror foil sticker can be applied to allow full visibility to all displayed models, i,ve seen on ebay for around £6 which can be cut to any size.
secure the IKEA shelves to the light wood plank using screws (as many as you want and spacing between them will go according to your needs)
Now you have a wood plank with shelves, apply mirror foil on any surface you wish
To prepare lighting you will need a strip of leds which will be cut and fit to the bottom of each shelve, the power supply can be placed on a small hidden box underneath the bottom shelve. As the plan is to use something like a 1cm long nuts to prevent the wood plank from touching thw wall you will have enough room to fit the wiring hence hiding them from plain sight and making it enjoyable to see.
To fit this to the wall you will have to use bolts to prevent any kind of accident so use as many as you think you need according to the final weight.

So now you have the whole system of shelves but they are open and collecting dust so i have found on Leroy Merlin a cheap trasparent acrylic board which may be cut to which size you need, i am planning on cutting strips using the size of the spacing from each shelve (this may vary so be very careful with the cutting measurements. To fit them is up to you, you may screw them straight to the shelves , make sliding doors or even small compartment doors.

Find below links to the shelves i have found on IKEA

The acrylic glass is this one (2mm thick)

The link to the Sliver Self-adhesive Foil Mirror i found:

ebay.co.uk/itm/152141003411?..sPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I found this interesting LED strip with power adaptor and an IR remote to control the lights:

Ebay.co.uk Item - 5M 10M SMD 5050 3528 RGB LED Strip Light Power Adapter IR Remote Waterproof

For what i have seen this complete shelve system will cost no more than £50 to £70 depending on the size

I hope it is all understandable and not gibberish, this is the first of a few ideas i had according to the space i have available i will share another one as soon as i am able to find out the necessary components
