The painting process
Tank body, stowage boxes, suspension/road wheels and such painted in standard dark green (MR Paint 326m), flotation/swim equipment, on the far right, painted in standard olive drab (Mr Paint 325M), same goes for the external fuel tanks.
Better late than never...finally got my act together and picked up this project again. Second color done!
Third color done, just one more color to go (black) and some small corrections and then on to weathering.
Finally done with painting...

Thanks! Yes, four-tone splinter. Painting is close to finish, I've uploaded a few pics in the end of this album to start with.

Thanks! I had one of those AB-masks/pre-cuts but it didn't work out for me so I masked by hand. It took a couple of nights but it payed off in the end...it sure exercises your patience!

Yes, I did mine by hand too. The surface of the strv103 is too uneven for masks. Many little pieces of tape is needed to keep spray from getting in under the mask line.
That and that I wanted the exact pattern of an actual tank.. It really pays off in the end!
Looks great!

Thanks! I used all the eduard etch i could get my hands on which complicated things even more when masking. But well worth it I think

Mine is just oob, done many years ago. I was not aware of any photo etch at the time, if it was even issued yet!
