U boot typ IIb
After a couple of years I pickted this one from the shelf again, to finally finish it. Lucky it survived the house move, dumb luck as it was tossed in a box🙂
Small parts added to the tower
Even smaller parts added to the AA gun, my eyes are not good enough for such a small scale
Ready for paint
Dark grey base
Deck painted german grey
Light grey added to the hull
Tower picked out in medium grey
Details painted
Decals placed
First washes applied
Completing the flags with am swastika decals
Oposite side
Came across an article about the sinking of an enemy vessel by this submarine. This was published in "Die Kriegsmarine" a propaganda magazine in 1940
All done 🙂

Small update, little progress has been made, I added the rudder and propeller assembly, and started on the fiddly bits like the periscope and such.

Thanks Bruce.
They were partly the reason for me wanting to do an u-boot, I realy like to try out differing weathering effects.
Meanwhile I' found out more about these facinating machines, and have more planned in the future
