Hull is almost completed, only the side skirts are missing.
Not really impressed by the kit. Its an mixed bag with sprues of the old M1 kit and a few new for the M1A2. Unfortunately you can see it on the details. The mold of the new sprues is very crisp but the old parts are very low detailed and simplified. Especially on the anti skid surface. 🙁
PE parts is a must for this one, or you just go with the Tamiya offering. 🙂

Fantastic details! One thing is the gun barrel, I think it is mounted too far back. It should sit flush with the mantlet

Thank you Jasper.
You are right. Thanks for pointing this out. I messed up as i replaced the barrel with the AF one. Unfortunately i can not correct it anymore. 🙁
Hopefully no one will notice, so pssst 😉

Thank you Jan, Carlos and James. 🙂
@Carlos: The helmets are actually light grey. I guess the pictures are a little bit dark and that changed the color.
@James: Yes and no. 😄 The AFV Club set is made for Tamiya kits and the pre-cut stickers wont fit the Dragon kit as they are different. Fortunately the stickers are printed on a bigger sheet and there is plenty unused material. I just measured and cut the stickers myself. 🙂

You want it to be REALLY Authentic, ya need Mountain Dew bottles and Copenhagen containers, crushed up cigarette packs and butts all over the top, And by 2004 we started to remove bumper numbers and unit ID marks, to avoid enemy combatants knowing what units have rotated in and out. Plus the Gunner and TC would keep there M4's on the turret for close contact. But It is Beautiful work, and Very Beautiful work, Just as I remember them ! HOOAH !

Thank you Bob. 🙂
Maybe i will add some bottles and cigarette packs + butts. Not very hard to scratchbuild them from green stuff. Were the M4 already out when the tank was within the base or only outside?
What version of the M4 were they?

If A man was out of the Hatch, his M4 was out with him, on the FOB it would be in GREEN status (Bolt open, No mag in weapon- Outside the wire Red Status = locked and loaded ! In my Unit it was the M4 with M-68 Red dot optical site, standard Tri-burst. M4A1 (Full Auto) wasn't converted over to until 2013. And Rip-it Cans were littered all over every vehical as well, as the Army provided them by the millions ! LOL !

Nice job Ingo - the Rye Field tracks look way superior - the naked kit seems to have provided a good base & nice surfaces, the detailing added the rest, a cool overall result! The colored reflective surfaces look very cool from some perspectives, from others they may appear a little too dominant IMHO - which I guess cannot be helped in this scale, not enough natural shadow from the depth on the kit in those positions... I think they would be a great topic to play with in natural light with a pro camera & lens 🙂 Good job! 👍
What is in front of the tank that is upset the crew so much?😉

Slavo thank you for your kind words. 🙂
The mantlet of the main gun should align with the turret front but in my case, it is too far back inside.
Right now i am looking for an solution. I thinking of using the needed part from my another unbuild Abrams and cast an resin copy of it.
About the pictures. I will redo them later as the lens of my Canon cam broke and i am waiting for replacement. 🙁
