PUR foam : not exactly my idea of a glacier
With plaster gauze and a background picture, it looks already better.

ready for crash

figurines painted
the real situation
and the dio
rescue crew
the real situation
ski team arrived

more rescuers on the scene
The reality : two Storchs landed nearby

Oh, this is good. I'm planning a similar project for my Tintin in Tibet DC-3 crash scene... I'm going to steal all your ideas...

We are not stealing ideas , Greg, we are just expanding their use. Btw , the snow is mostly acrylic Modeling paste ,that you can dilute it with acrylic paint thinner to pour it.
Wait for the Fieselers ,my friends.

Looks great, Erik! Snow is probably as hard as water to replicate, and you have done excellent work!

Thanks, mates, I used acrylic modeling paste as a base and AK products: terrain snow , snow microballons and ice sparkles . With a touch of RLM 65 spray in some areas to obtain an icy look.

Erik, that just blows me away. What a great job with a previously written off kit. I love it!

Thanks mates for your appreciation. There are a few more details to complete the scene. The story that inspired me for this dio is even more astonishing , see these links :

In 1946 a Dakota crashed on the Gauli glacier. This looks like a good subject for a diorama with my "crashed" Dakota
