I love the look of this box, that's why I bought it.

As a snap together kit, there's really not all that much to worry about.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/3/5/7/706357-26441-30-720.jpg)
And that's it... 5-6 pieces and we're done... or are we?

To stick a small DC motor in there, some modifications are required to the propellor...

As well as drilling out the interior. A snug fit, is good as long as it fits!
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/3/6/0/706360-26441-44-720.jpg)
All wired up and glued in place.

Hmmm... the drilling seems to have pushed the left side of the fuselage out of alignment a bit. It's already glued, so we're going to have to work with a bit of filler and sanding. Pulling it apart would likely destroy this tiny little model.

Love that Soviet blue!
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/9/9/3/706993-26441-88-720.jpg)
Disaster... one of the wires broke and, as expected I wasn’t able to open it up again without destroying the motor...
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/5/4/1/707541-26441-14-720.jpg)
Ok... round two... fight!

The nice thing about making a mistake is that the second attempt is usually better than the first.

A couple of coats of paint go on quickly in 1/144 scale.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/1/9/5/709195-26441-95-720.jpg)
Decals on... now... to paint the cockpit and we're all done!

Watching paint dry always makes me hands itchy, and this little Zvezda snap kit was handy. I had to do some careful drill work to get the DC motor to fit, but it's in there. Snug, but it fits. Unfortunately the drilling pushed the left side of the fuselage slightly out of alignment before the glue dried. It's so small, and I damaged the structural integrity by drilling a (relatively) massive hole down the middle, so I think trying to take it apart and fix it will cause havoc. So we're going to have to work with a bit of putty and sanding I think.

Disaster Strikes! I somehow managed to break one of the wires, and the kit didn't survive the surgery. I've been here before. If at first you don't succeed...

I think just me, generally. Don't worry though... I've got another kit and we're back in action!

A few lessons learned and hopefully a better result because of it. I knew exactly what to do, and what NOT to do... and we're almost caught back up to where we were before.

Wow! I can't believe you've fitted a motor into something that I can barely see.
It's small in 1/48 but 1/144!!!!!!!

Heh. It did take me two cracks at it though. I really like these planes. I keep eying the Academy 1/48 boxing, so I'm glad I found one in a size that'll fit on my shelf.

Album info
The Voir er Savoir series may only include 60 planes, but why limit yourself?
