Vallejo putty is used to glue two plaster copies of a cobblestone road mould.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/5/9/743259-41848-87-720.jpg)
The backside needs to be filled a bit too, just for stability sake.

The final layout of the scene.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/7/7/1/744771-41848-30-720.jpg)
Filling the gaps is quite a challenge. I think that using this mould for the cobblestone was a mistake... An modular one would have been nice.

Waiting... waiting for the putty t dry... Grrr!

Not much to add.

A very upset granny is being prepared while other stuff is being finished and weathered. The modifications (or TLC) to the pointing lady are almost finished.
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/7/7/9/867779-41848-36-720.jpg)
This lady needs some more TLC to get where I need her to be.

Did I mention that weathering a kit is the *least* pleasant step in modelling to me?
I always procrastinate a lot before I get to this. The reason is: I'm no good at it at all!
That's why I'm (almost) never happy with the result, leading to frustration, leading to even more procrastination on the next project... Go figure!

![Album image #35 Album image #35](/albums/img/0/0/7/868007-41848-32-720.jpg)
Of course, the "bush" on the right will be cut to the appropriate size and thickness.

Two female victims of the may 1940 exodus and one victim of the cobblestone road...

First steps in painting the civilians. (the younger lady has been modified somewhat, the extended arm and the mouth)
![Album image #45 Album image #45](/albums/img/9/1/4/873914-41848-47-720.jpg)
Weathering... I stink at it.

The dust needs some drying.

Either, there's not enough or there's too much of it.

The ladies are getting ready, a little powder on the nose perhaps?
![Album image #50 Album image #50](/albums/img/6/6/7/874667-41848-29-720.jpg)
I'm particularly happy with granny's face and hair.
The diorama is almost complete now, once these two ladies are ready, I'll put everything together and that's it!

Thanks Olivier!
I'm just waiting for two very silly parts to build my static grass applicator to continue this diorama and another one (Anzacs in Palestine).

I'm actually more of a figure painter (mostly for my TTRPGs) than modeller. But I find it harder to paint military plastic figures in 1:35 than 28mm pewter ones. So, thanks again for the encouragement...😉

After the "dress rehearsal", I placed some higher grass stripes on the border of the cobblestone Road and used my homemade static grass thingy for the very first time. I like the result.

Chugging along "nicely"... Right now, I still need to paint a helmet, weather the vehicles and put all that together.

As the current setup didn't seem "dramatic" enough, I decided to add two items: on milk pail on the road, spilling the milk and one lady pointing the other way.
The whole thing instantly received a new name also: "Mais où allez vous? Les Bosches sont par là!" (But, where are you going? The Krauts are over there!)

Whow! The Vallejo Still Water I used has become quite clouded... Grrr!
(There was a bit of cloudiness before, but now, its really strong.)

For the completed diorama and "historic explanation" (fluff). 🙂

Concerning the cloudiness of the Still water (Vallejo 26.230, No) :
After a few checks, it appears that this can happen when one puts a new layer of water on top of a previous one that isn't completely cured.
Too impatient?
