Great start. Leave the fingerprint there. It's Personalized.
What is it about this series of cars, that capture our attention.
I have the Great Britain Rally car with the bug-eye fog lamps and every time I see one of the others, I wanna get that one too.
So cool.

Thanks Peppy. Fingerprint corrected already! 😄 I love the big headlights, unfortunately this one can not use them, Tour de Corse did not have night races

Thank you MS K. I used TS-50 not only because it is mentioned in the instructions, but also because lots of colleagues told me that the finish of application directly from the can was unbeatable. And today I am inclined to agree - after it dries, it is rock hard and very smooth and shiny.

Looking really good! In my experience you also do not get much dust in the painted surface when using rattlecans...

Thank you Dennis. Let's hope dust stays away. The tires are a magnet for it, I discovered

Try some Uhu-Tac (or similar product) on the tires to get of the dust. I use to „Roll"this stuff over the tires (dont know how to explain properly o_O)

Had the Same problems with the decals in my build. They where kind of stiff and brittle. Maybe you should try a hairdryer on the decals.

Thanks Dennis, I used Mark Fit Suler Strong and they get really very soft, but when they always return to their original position after drying thoroughly

I don't know whether this is old news on
this forum or not. From the aircraft boards
I used to frequent, Mr. Mark Set and Mr. Softner
we're always recommended for Academy,
Tamiya and Hasegawa decals. The way I
understood it, they were designed for the thicker
stock Asian decals.

Hello Peppy, good advice is never old news! 🙂 I used Tamiya's Mark Fit Super Strong (which is indeed quite strong) but I confess I never tried Mr Softner. I'll have to give it a try sometime soon. Thank you

Ricardo, Mr. Softner will take those old earlier Tamiya
decals and bend the around the edge of those instrument
panels. Two or three applications 90° bend.

Be aware and do not leave „puddles" of mr. Mark softer on the decals. It tends to burn right through the decals. Otherwise good stuff. Been using it for years.

In fact the softener made weird figures on the surface and then, with the varnish on top the result is far from perfect... 🙁

Hm. I would try to carefully wet sand with some 3000 grid sanding sponge to get the surface smooth. Then polish back to high gloss. That's what i usually do to finish the paintjob.
And to be honest: if you see a race car in real live surface of the decals is far from being perfect too 😉

Yes, that should be the way but I must confess the fight with the decals and the strange reactions with the varnish exhausted my patiente with this model. I will not waste any more time with it, and move to finish immediately without any more sanding or polishing. Next one will be better... I hope... 🙂

Totally Understandable. That's what our beloved hobby is all about: to learn what to do better next time. Keep going mate!

Very cool! Love the weathering you did, exactly as it should be for a tarmac event I think. Dirty lower part, clean top.

Thank you guys, this is my first car, so your comments give me courage to try another one in the future. 👍
