The kit itself is very simple, but I think I will enjoy it!

As I wrote in the description , I'll use some fantastic decals I have 🙂

The decals...
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/8/6/8/1054868-87527-96-720.jpg)
...and the profile of my aircraft 🙂

A first assembly test

Ready for a soap wash and a first layer of colour

I'm a complete idiot! I started applying masks that I found here (yolo.net/~jeaton/mym..plates/SpitTemp.html) when I realized they are for the opposite colour scheme! ...
(Btw the masks are awesome!)

![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/0/2/0/1072020-87527-47-720.jpg)
... So I followed the easy way: I painted with a fine brush the scheme and I'll complete it with the airbrush.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/8/8/4/1102884-87527-29-720.jpg)
...And after many weeks, I continued the project! Very happy with the result!

My favourite step: APPLYING DECALS 🙂
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/3/8/7/1107387-87527-31-720.jpg)

![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/1/6/4/1117164-87527-37-720.jpg)
Still lot to do on the bottom, I'm also trying to scratch build the landing gear bay!
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/6/4/4/1125644-87527-80-720.jpg)
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/6/4/5/1125645-87527-18-720.jpg)
Almost finished, just missing the last touchup. The canopy is far from perfect, but let's say it's ok 🙂
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/1/7/5/1126175-87527-45-720.jpg)
Using soft pastel powder, I applied some weathering and details
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/1/7/6/1126176-87527-14-720.jpg)
I had to drawing the canopy frames with a thin brush...Not a masterpiece, but ok.
For the antenna wire I was unable to apply my special wire, so I followed the old school and used a sprue wire 🙂

Thanks you both! Yes, I like to build old kits, and I like unusual color schemes! I'll try to get a nice model

👍 I agree with all the above comments - after all, I also built this kit just a while ago... Good luck with the finishing stages...

Thanks for the link to the masks, they seem to be quite useful. For my Spit, I copied the paint scheme from the instructions, but connecting the side to the top view pattern was not straight forward.

I'm still applying decals, they're probably the best in quality I ever used 👍🏻
Only yesterday I figured that I've applied the tail fin on reverse,🙈... I'll try to remove it and to apply a new spare decal!

You are braver than me, trying to sculpt the missing gear wells... I chose to totally ignore this, as well as the empty cockpit, and just have a "finished" model, far back in my display case... You were also more successful than me in painting the desert camo... 👍

Thank you very much Alek! I also ignored the empty cockpit, and the the work on the bay is far from perfect....
I'm testing different techniques, and I'm very satisfied about the painting (first time using AK).
So... Thanks again, your kind words are really appreciated!👍🏻

Dear all, I call this model finished.
I really enjoyed it, I have still to improve a lot, but I absolutely like it.
For sure, it deserves better pictures, with a proper light (too short daylight in winter 😜).

Thumbs up! 👍 👍 Having, as I already said, built the same kit, in a similar desert livery, just a few months back, I followed your progress with great interest, figuring out what you did better than me, what both of us could have done better etc. This is a not-exactly-state-of-the-art kit, but I think it still is worth having such builds presented, for us not-so-advanced modelers, something closer to our (well, mine at least) level - addressing our kind of modelling fears, troubles, struggles - while the exquisite work of the more advanced mates is usually out of our reach - thank you for this! Keep it up!

Dear mates, THANK YOU for all the kind kind words!
Modeling it's only a hobby for me, just to relax a bit and to recharge myself, but if my work is inspiring or just helping some other to continue on this beautiful activity I'll be really happy!!!!!!
I also like to apply different techniques, and this community is for sure a fantastic group of great people!
Thank you again!
