Factory 112 T-34/85

Album image #1
Actually already fairly far along on this project. One side of the T-Rex tracks done and I'm absolutely in love with them! Shaved off the academy skirts and some details to put on the tetra fender set

Album image #2
Bending these was scary with such a small PE tool. But just a lil bit at a time and I managed to so both sides without issues.

Album image #3
Both skirts and fenders finished up. Just need to glue on the right side and start the rears.

Album image #4
Fenders and skirts are fully attached. Just need to add the details to the skirts.

Album image #5
Lil bin for one side finished up. Green stretched sprue before trimming to add the bolt heads.

Album image #6
Added the strap tie downs and bracing on the skirts.

Album image #7
Box finished

Album image #8
Saw mostly finished up before mounting.

Album image #9
Both bin/boxes finished and mounted as well as the saw.

Album image #10
Most of the details added to the turret. Bolts for the mantlet cover, lifting hooks and etc. Will add the grab handles next

Album image #11
Quite a bit of progress. Ordered some more figures for the diorama idea as well and the open hatches up top. Few more details to go since I've only had a few chances to work on it during the week during my lunch breaks. Hoping I can finish it up and paint this weekend

Album image #12
Managed to finish everything up.

Album image #13
Primed black testing out Stynlrez and loving it.

Album image #14
More primer

Album image #15
Primed all the wheels. Exhaust and covers seperate as well.

Album image #16
Shot a coat of dark tracks for the undercoat over everything. Will be a good basis for some slight chipping fluid work.

Album image #17
Chipping fluid over the dark tracks, followed by dark Russian green and some slight modulation with Russian 4bo. Gonna test the chipping on these first before committing on the tank.

Album image #18
I think that'll do nicely. Pin washes. More chipping. Mud and all that to come on these. But I'll do up the rest of the tank to match this method.

Album image #19
4bo shaded on and chipped. Satin varnished and letting it sit overnight so I can get some rest.

Album image #20
Planning on spraying the white markings on the turret and tweaking them with a brush. Keep in mind this color will get toned a lot more as things move forward.

Album image #21
Masked and sprayed the white markings

Another angle. Loads of work left to do.

Album image #29
Reached a good stopping point for tonight.

Album image #30
Still loads more work to do

Album image #31
Finished up the second set of tracks fairly quickly. Love these T-Rex tracks.

Album image #32
Letting all this work dry before I add some exposed polished metal.

Album info

Wanted to build up a T-34/85 after grabbing the Academy kit locally for cheap. Ordered some aftermarket goodies and have a 1944/1945 diorama idea.
