SAAF Atlas Cheetah D
This kit is basically the old Mirage IIID kit with a few new sprues for the Cheetah specific parts.
No details on the instruments, will need to scavenge for instrument decals
Found some old decals, think it came out ok.
Small amount of filler needed
Drilled out the various air vents
No details on the cockpit sides...oh well.
Needed to cut of a piece there to make the intakes fit.
Houston, we have a problem.
Horrible joint.
Should look ok once painted.
More filling needed.
Inside frame of windscreen painted.
The windscreen sticks out over the sides of the fuselage, so had to be pushed in to align.
Inside frame of canopy painted.
Not much I can do about the seems on the insides of the intakes, hopefully wont see to much once it's painted.
I knocked off the tip of the nose.
Using the tip of a pin to build a new nose tip.
Blended the metal pin with some CA glue to the nose.
Nose tip after fix.
Navigation lights.
Pitot tube test fitting.
Using Mirage F1 seat belts.
Nice Cartograf decals.
Another repair...broke the tip of the wing off.
Decals and a flat coat on.
I didn't like the look of the missiles, so stripped the paint and tried again.
Now it looks more like the V3S missiles that were mounted on the Cheetahs.

Agree with Jennifer, and loved the intake lip fix too. What happened in pic 53? Is that a piece that fell?

@David R - the tip of the wing is very thin and after a few knocks the tip broke off. I cut out that part off the wing to repair it and then glued it back in place.
