It's a good kit. I know there's been something made of accuracy issues but it looks good to me. I think it has one of the best OOB cockpits of any Monogram kit.

Canopy fit is terrible, FYI, especially the rear part where it meets fuselage. If you want it closed, be prepared for quite a bit of fiddling. Pylon to wing fit also pretty bad and wings/fuselage have some gap issues. Then again, it is a Monogram so you kind of have to expect it!

I am planning on an open canopy, so no problem on that fit issue. I can deal with the rest of the issues as on all my previous Revellogram builds. 😉

I liked that Monogram included the Mk 7 baby nuke. That must have been an interesting mission for the pilot.

I imagine that the mission profile was interesting. After doing the bomb toss and hopefully surviving, I wonder what they expected to find upon return to base? In that scenario all sorts of atomic weapons would be flying around onto every conceivable target.

If it was in central Europe I imagine you'd be looking for an old abandoned Luftwaffe field or a nice stretch of autobahn. If you did your bit for Uncle Sam I'd say it was every man for himself after that!

Thanks John! Yeah, the Wing badge sure made no secret of their mission. 😉 The red squadron trim and stripes really are eye catching

Thank you Guy. I learned long ago from a superb modeler that presentation can make all the difference.

Thanks Mark. I was trying out AK Real Color Aluminum for the first time here, and I think the results of using that paint speak for themselves.
