1926:
- Richard E. Byrd and Floyd Bennett's Fokker F.VIIa/3m "Josephine Ford", in which Byrd (dubiously) claimed to have been first at the North Pole
- Amundsen's airship Norge, which almost certainly was first to the North Pole
1928:
- Umberto Nobile's airship Italia, which crashed after overflying the Pole
- Amundsen's Latham 47 flying boat, which disappeared along with the explorer on a rescue mission to the Italia
